    It looks like Hal Cole is getting ready for the same race at Oakland Stadium as was Troy Ruttman in your earlier photo, Rootie. What kind of stock car is that anyway? The back seat seems incredibly large!

  6. The one that went down January 9th was The Pioneer Cabin tree in central California's Calaveras Big Trees State Park fell during a storm Sunday and shattered upon impact, park rangers said. I did not realize there was more than one!

    Saw Gene with Trigger OOOOPS Sorry Gene correction.....Champion (Trigger was Roy Rogers ride) when I was maybe 8 or 9 at our downtown arena in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada.

    The car is a 1930 or 1931 Buick. The girl is sitting on the radiator cap which might have told us the difference. There was a story about those bumpers on theoldmotor.com not too long ago.

    I think Gene Autry's horse was "Champion". The kiddie ride was named after it...
