Don't they have something called "Boxers Day" in Canada? Didn't know it fell on the same weekend as the Meltdown, and the crazy Canuks wear their boxers in public.., even while they are doing a half gainer under the dash.

 

I think June 3rd & 4th G.L.D. the first 20 years event.

So, I think I shared this with some of you guys, but I wanted to share one little improvement to the old Okie Doker.

In the thrash to put the new motor in, I was out of time to do a few things the way that I wanted to...one of those being headers.

My motor has some spread port heads (nothing fancy...nothing to look at) and it requires a different header flange OR you can buy an adapter. So, I bought some adapters. Then, with the extra thickness of the adapters my nice Doug's fenderwell headers were touching my fenders...so, on to Plan B which was a set of "super stock" style headers...

We go them on and made the Meltdown...but of course my friend Ric pointed out that I was "choking" the Okie Doker...


So, I talked to the best welder I know (Jeff with the Skairlane) and had him make me a new set...

Check out what the adapters looked like when we took them off...


They were blocking quite a bit of the exhaust ports, but as you can see there wasn't much I could do...

Now, while not the best pictures, but here are the new ones...

The car sounds like a completely different car and they look right as rain..

Can't wait to get them out in a few months!

 

That was messing up your feng shuei for sure. Love those headers. My headers are choking mine down too but I built em with what I had to work with. Will have to be remedied at some point.

We were so down to the wire to get it ready for the Meltdown that I didn't have any other choice. I am glad I got it right now. It is amazing how different the car sounds.

 

dont you usually have to work your way up to the top.......like milner tells falfa "why dont you go out and win some races....then you can challenge me" lol...

 

Poor thing!! How would you feel with a plastic bag over your head with a small hole to breath out of at run a 1/4 mile! Man Jeff how do you sleep at night!!

Gammz...I have to let this puppy breathe...keeping those headers on there would be like having the hottest girl in the world on your side and making her wear a snow suit all the time.

Plus, I am going to need every little bit of power to keep up with the Salt and Pepper Shaker...for at least the first 10 feet

 

Got the bantam rolled out of the corner....time to finish a few things up!

 

Oh yes I hear ya cluckn big chicken. My poor small block ford needs all the help she can get!! Well the new mill will be a really good breathing little mouse.

It sure is and hope no one ever gets to see it.

 

Sad thing is this is going to be one of the only new parts that I get to play with for this year.
But that's okay I like used.

 

Only head start is gonna be when I catch Jeff sleeping at the light.
