10" might be easier to find used

My buddy Jay is running 10" wide slicks on his 64 Falcon. ( using 8" wide mopar squad car rims )

 

Gammz- you can also call Towel City and get some pie crusts... that is the right look... ask for the Meltdown special

Got it to fire with blower......Tomorrow more to the "run" bay to get some running time on it.

 

Called him and he said it is a 10" x 26" M & H Cheater slick with the mopar squad car wheel.

OPPS...forgot ( with a 1/4 " spacer ) between rim and axle bolt face.

Don't know the history of the car ( the 9" or springs may have been narrowed or moved )

This isn't a slick, but have used them before and maybe 150 for a pair . Before the 455 and wheelwells cut, was 60' in the 1.80's with the 389. These are dirt track tires, I used the HH 235 70 15 and were actually more like a 235 60 15 (26") . call them and tell them what your are doing and can fix you up if you cant find a good used set of slicks.

Speaking of tires , I ended up getting a 27" set of Hoosiers instead of the Morosos for my front wheels, freshly polished . Larry Hodge Tires sponsers the Nostalgia Gassers and felt better to give him business instead of sending money to Summit or Jegs. Great guy and customer service and pricing.

Scott is hard to take shit from the benches but I am pullin for you.

 

Lookin lean and mean....just have to fab up a couple gussets,triple check my pinion angle,tach some stuff in place,then leave the serious welding for Pop when he gets home from down south.
I'm gonna be out of town for a month or so,but when I get back,we'll be moving on to wiring,shifter,and getting the new,larger carbs on it so I can return my borrowed 650's.
Also may have one more small bit of fabrication to do......

James,my Dad's best Buddy is an absolute psycho over 409 cars...He was drooling all over the place and climbing right out of his chair when I showed him pictures of your black car.
