That's what all IBEW retired electricians do. Some need to re-aprentice as at either WalMart, Costco, or SAMs Club first. :p

Run a state of the art 1960's sign and fabrication shop. But this week were a trophy making shop. OT MOTO GP trophies but those guys running 200+ in the straights on 2 wheels have all my respect

Ps Mark Marquez has all 4 first place trophies we've made from the last 4 races in Austin Tx

    Well done.

  10. I remember doing glass work at Nestle. Employees would throw in bags of chocolate bars in my work truck, when I was working somewhere else on site.
    Pleasant surprise when I left.
These type of stories is why I love what I do.

I have owned and operated a Hot Rod and Speed shop for the last 30 years. Before that I owned a chrome plating shop. Before I was self employed I worked in a machine shop, a mechanic shop, and a salvage yard. Plus I pumped gas when I was in High school.

I'm basically a secretary/parts runner/ and whateverelse needs to be done for my Dad here at Steve Cook Creations. Sometimes I actually do bodywork, work on cars. But it's fun and most days I love what I do, I mean, I get to be around Dad, and the crew, and work on some of the nicest cars on the planet, so that's a plus. And.. I get to drive my wagon everyday to run parts, that's a HUGE plus to me.

  18. Retired with a hobby/business that keeps me busy and makes chump change, less than minimum wage. o_O
I was a lithographer and graphic designer.... even had my own business. In my day I could spot a wrong font semicolon at 20 paces. Just about everything in lithography is done under magnification so it's perfect to the naked eye. This "training" tended to make me hyper critical enough that I just about attempted to do everything myself. Usually things turned twice as good but took 4 times as long.

Retired Lockheed Manufacturing Engineer - worked on all of the neat airplanes made in Marietta, GA from the transports, C-130, C-141, C-5B &C-5M to the fighters, F-35 and F-22. I spent twenty years on the F-22 Raptor.
After 2 years of retirement I can say that retirement doesn't suck, until you fall off a ladder and break your arm.

Now I have to wait out the healing period until I can use both arms to get back to work on all of the projects I saved for retirement.
