    Must have been tough fitting vacuum tubes in a crab distributor. Lol
    Nice looking roadster.

    Transistors were just becoming available then. I'm impressed someone was thinking of using them for ignition that early.

    Can you imagine building that car for$1500.00 even in 1953. if I could afford it that is the blueprint I would look for. Tom

    Exactly! I was impressed that an individual was already thinking about this application...
     
  7. i cleaned out a garage for a developer who had purchased the house cheap from the estate. i pulled a truck load of junk out including a weird gm distributor. it looked like a regular point distributor on the out side but an hei on the inside. we ran the numbers and it was from a 64[?] corvette

    Electronic ignition was an option on Corvettes at that time. But the first to offer electronic ignition from the factory was Avanti in 1961 or 62.
