I remember Wheel kid selling a halibrand style sprint wheel but can't seem to find it on his or any other site? Who else makes them?
Just ordered a set from here about a month ago. Out of all of the websites I saw I liked theirs the best. Kind of pricey but they are made in America and look great too. He said it would take about three months to get them, something about switching to a new foundry. Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
You may want to check out these guys, roughly 2/3 the price of Real Rodders (per currently listed prices on their web sites) http://www.americanrebelmfg.com/wheels Roo
Been running Eric Vaughn real wheels on our Roadster since the mid 80's. Pat has done a fantastic job keeping the torch lit as Real Rodder Wheels. I shoul be receiving my new Indy 2 magnesium pin drive wheels from him later this week. Going on the roadster to change things up a bit.
No-res... Head out to the GNRS (Pomona) the week of the 27th. You'll see several Halibrand (copy) vendors showing off their wares. Most are nice looking, some slightly better than others. Look, touch, play with them. Nothing like seeing them in person. Mike
I have real Halibrands on my red 40 Willys and Rockets on my black 40 Willys. Of course, there is some difference in the wheels but the Rockets still look good and are a lot cheaper. I got both sets from Yogis in Iowa.
I bookmarked this immediately! Thanks a ton. I've been looking for wheels like these for my OT Nova. Been getting the itch to build a gasser from all the build threads. Sent from my SM-N900P using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Denny, I'll post one picture of here- check my 32 album for additional pictures later this week. Don't want to get off the Sprint style subject of this thread.
Just bought a pair of Twisted Sprints for the rear and Sprints for the front from Rebel. Very nice and well worth the price.
Real Rodders on the '34. Very nice, made in the USA, sometimes hard to actually get a set ordered and shipped. American Rebels for the '40. Very nice, made in the USA, were at my door in a week. Here is a closer shot of the Rebels. I don't buy Halibrands anymore because they are made in China and the owner is a jackass. -Abone.
I bought American Rebel for my Cyclone. They were great to deal with and the wheels look great. The car is under construction right now but I have it mocked up with the wheels.
They are pretty close. I think the real rodders were a touch more expensive. But I ordered a set 6/2016 and have yet to receive them. Finally broke down in mid June and ordered American Rebels and had them the following week. Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
...........................WOW! Over a years wait and still no wheels. They are nice wheels but, that's just a little crazy.
E-T has the 'Five Window' wheels in both cast and polished finish ( http://www.etmags.com/five_window.html ): They also have the Altered wheel in both cast and polished ( http://www.etmags.com/altered.html ): There are different centre insert options available (knock-off, short cap, tall cap, flat plate). Sebring - cast only ( http://www.etmags.com/sebring.html ):
I have a set of ET III Feulers on the back of the Model A. VERY nice wheels, used to be made in the US, don't know if they still are or not. I spoke with the owner once or twice on the phone and he seemed to be a great guy. Shitty picture. -Abone.
