Hello all, New member here. I picked up a 54 Bel Air true barn find last month. The car was parked in an old wooden 1 car garage 34 years ago in the small town of La Junta Colorado. The car was posted on craigslist on a Friday afternoon and I was there the very next morning with cash in hand an trailer in tow. The car was covered in over an inch of dust, The only way you could tell what color (red) was were it was touched while trying to squeeze past it in the tiny garage. It only took 2 minutes for me to say (I'll take it). In less then ten minutes I had it out in the light of day, 40 minutes on the trailer and heading for home... Phase 2, A bath and vac of the inside and trunk. Quite a few critters called it home for the past 34 years. Very surprised to find it was 95% complete. It had the original 235-6 with 3 on the tree. a 12 volt conversion was started. It was repainted once with a color close to the factory color. Very minimal rust, a few small dents and scratches. With a little elbow grease we got the paint to shine. Phase 3. getting it to start.
