How many projects is too many? I don't even have enough time or money to finish what I already have on my plate. So what do I do when I have the opportunity to trade for a 36 Ford 3w? I make the trade! Haha. I think I might have a problem. -Charlie
Cool project! Nothing better than a 36 3W .... keep us updated on your project! Sent from my SM-G930V using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
No I didn't. My friend that I traded with did. He blew it apart and blasted the body. Then primed it. I don't yet have the car in my possession. It's 1000 miles away. We talked about the trade for a few weeks and today we agreed to do it. I have seen it in person and it's really solid. Those are pictures he sent me.
Crazy depends on what you traded for it. Looks pretty good to me, and that's one of my favourite body styles. Nice!
Yep you have a problem. Trade a nice driver for a nice pile when your already overloaded and no money.
Haha that's no lie. I really like that Corvette. I never thought I would get rid of it. They only made a few of those white FRC's (312 to be exact) in 1999. I have had it for 10 years. I bought it when I was 22. I really hate to see it go, but I am also excited about the 36.
You made a good trade. No one looks at that vette when you drive by but the 36 will make people run off the road. Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Thank you. I am not your typical Corvette jacket wearing with matching visor and name tag type of dude so don't get me wrong. But that Corvette got more attention than I ever wanted. I just thought it was cool. Modern 3w coupe lol. It's not easy for me to part with it.
I would have done the same thing you did.. Would love to have a 36 3 window... Congratulations! Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
I will go buy you the same corvette and trade ya for the 3w In case you have regrets........what's that vet worth on a good day compared to that 36 on a rainy day. 3w 36s are damn near priceless in my mind. Raddest car ever made.
Thanks man! I don't know what the 36 is worth, and I only have an idea of what the FRC is worth. I never tried to sell it. Well, I have two other projects, plus I just bought my first house. It came with a shop, but it isn't wired and it doesn't have electricity ran to it so I need to work on that. So this might be on hold for a bit, but thank you.
It's a little lumpy but really solid! I love it. My wife shook her head when I swapped my white/gold Hurst olds for a 51 vicky in primer that had to be delivered to my place on a trailer. I've made several of those seemingly lop-sided swaps.
That is kind of what I was thinking. I have never found a rust free one before in my neck of the woods. That one was pulled out of the desert. The rear fenders are beat up..but it is coming with new repopped ones.
.....and why is the vette rare because the color is white? looks like a dime a dozen vette to me but what do i know..give me the old ford anyday. .you done good!
Thank you. It's rare because it is a white FRC. Which stands for Fixed roof coupe. Most Corvettes have a targa top and a hatch back. FRC's do not. They have a roof that doesn't come off, a rear glass and a trunk instead of a hatch. They only made them in 1999 and 2000. The same body style later became the Zo6 in 2001 and they stopped making FRC's as base models. Sometimes rare doesn't translate to mean expensive...it is just kind of cool and unique. Not many of them. -Charlie
That's a great solid looking 36, I think you did great. I've heard Corvettes tend to fall down holes in the ground.
The earth wants it's oil back. It will one day get it too. We can pump the shit out of it but then it's illegal to pour it out in the back yard.....
