Sorta like a silver Ford Focus or a Honda Civic
Maybe More common like a mini van but cooler

I love me some 33-34 full fendered coupes.

Not a coupe but it has a top, I really especially like this one. I thought I had a picture of one done up like this but a 3W coupe, it might have been a photoshop though. Looked great with the early custom treatment.

Here is my 34 with and without the fenders. Eventually, it will get shiny paint, and yes, its final form will include the fenders.

Hello,
My first encounter with a 34 Ford 5 window coupe was when it rolled up in our driveway one day. Out pops my brother’s friend with a big smile on his face. I could see why he was smiling. That 34 coupe looked cool and sounded like a real race car. While my brother and his friend were talking, I was able to walk around the 34 coupe and get a good idea of what a real hot rod coupe looked like.

It was a frequent visitor to our small Westside of Long Beach house many times. I was lucky enough to be able to get a couple of rides in that coupe. It was outstanding and had the power to feel like a rocket blasting off… Say, a modified Olds motor? Rocket symbol? Coincidence?

It looked like this one, except the motor was a big Oldsmobile V8 that was very powerful and fast. It was a competitor in the A/Gas class at Lions Dragstrip and won many trophies. It was also a daily driver to high school and work after school.

My wife and I like old hot rods. This style of sloping grille coupes and sedans agreed with us more so than the expensive 32 Ford models. The coupe looked racy just sitting on a driveway or street. Over the long time we have been involved with old cars, we have seen our share of 1933-34 model Fords.

Here are two sets of photos from two different time periods when I was taking photographs of hot rods and roadsters. The first has been in the San Diego family for many generations. The second one is a little wild and caught my eye, while on a walking tour of some old classic historic homes from the 40s-50s era. Each has their own merit and fan clubs. One is not better than the other, it just becomes personal taste and wants.

VERSUS

My preference is the black sedan for daily driving and long distance road trips. My wife liked that black sedan because it was comfortable and looked like it belonged on our So Cal streets. I have always liked the stance of chopped coupes and sedans, if they are not too radical. Being inside of a Willys sedan delivery that was chopped was not a great environment for daily driving.

So, in comparison, my wife liked the black 1934 sedan over the red, chopped 34 sedan. She does like the color red, but the chopped effect from inside would drive her crazy. It would seem like the roof was pressing down on her head. That would not go over too nicely for her or me.

We have driven somewhat flashy color hot rods and it was ok during the teenage years, as well as the developing 20 something time period. But, we have grown to like privacy and the car colors do play a part in that mode. But, there is much to be said about driving around in a red car for making others more alert to your driving in town or lane changing on the freeways. Maybe not with such fabulous looking bright yellow flames… How about Pearlescent White for long lasting clean effect and disappearing in traffic?
