Yea I made the surge tank. Street car stuff haha. If you look back in the thread it shows you how I did it. I'm going to run the 4 port. How is it on your t street driving with the 4port? I don't plan on ever going far just local cruises. The Hilborn looks killer on your car. Did you know the stacks were going to be that close to the top of the cowl or did you get lucky?

 

they make four sizes of four ports. a short and tall and a large and small butter fly. the street cars have better tip in with the smaller diameter. impressive work.

 

I know mine is short not sure on the butterfly size

 

My t has the large butterfly tall 4 port on it. It drives down the road great smoother than any of my other cars. I would drive that car anywhere. Cruises down the highway 1500 rpm in 5th gear no problems. I measured for my stacks but I think they are to tall I'm going to end up putting shorter stacks on it. To close to the cowl and front part of the hood.

Do you lean it out with the fuel shutoff? Looking forward to driving it to the local cruises. Where camaro, novas, and mustangs are the norm. Hopefully make an impression for some kids.

 

When I first got my coupe going with the injection I would lean it out with the shutoff but after messing with spring pressures in the secondary bypass on the barrel valve I haven't had to do that for a few years. That car starts rite up and idles in freezing colt Temps also. When I had 6 Strombergs on it u couldn't get it to run below 50°. I'll have to look to see what I ended up for pressures in the main bypass and the secondary I want to say 14 in the main and 12 in the secondary. We just use the secondary for idle that way when u mess with the pill on the main it doesn't affect your idle at all so u don't have to touch the barrel valve. I also always set the main 2 pounds heavier that way it doesn't bypass there at idle either. We made a tool to set the pressures most injection people I have talked with did the same. It's just a air compressor regulator with a Guage on it that u can screw the bypass on the end of then just turn the pressure up until it pops the pop it in the bypass. It took a while to get it where it was happy but once it's happy I haven't touched it in a few years now. Obviously it doesn't always run at full potential but it runs good when it's cold and runs decent when it's 100°. It runs 9's when it's cooler out and runs 10.0's usually when it's hot out and that's exactly how I run it on the street.

That's all good info. Especially the main being heavier thank the secondary.

 

Have off from not until January 2nd so this will be the beginning of the great Christmas thrash.

The lady and my mom we're baking Christmas cookies today.

I made this nice aluminum baking pan but they didn't want it so I made a fan shroud out of it.







Still needs to be drill welded and tabbed but a good start

Nice deal I'm thinking of doing something like this but I don't like the whole fitting and hose deal out of the block but I like your crossover it looks nice in there that's more like what I wanted to do

I choose that because the Isky idle bracket bolts off the water pump this makes the fittings off the block a little complicated.

They say the cross over is balanced and you can run water from one sides but i felt that one bank would've ran hotter. I'm going to run black lines and either black or nickel plated fittings.

Finished the fan shroud. First time welding aluminum. First time using rivet nuts. Those worked well. Overall I'm happy with it. Should do the job.

 

How did you like welding the aluminum?
The stuff can be funny one time its all cool then the next time its completely different.

 

As you can see I didn't take any close up pictures. I doesn't look horrible, but not great. Tricky stuff like you said. You really need to think about how you are going to weld something.
