I grew up in Arlington that's got to be from the heights. Also the next post you made from AnnArbor is where my son lives now. Do you know what streets these photos were taken on? Thanks George
Thanks. I worked in a Esso station in the heights close by where that was taken. My daughter in law works at the university. It's a Small world after all
RBantique- Many thanks for those wonderful pictures! They remind me of pictures I saw as a kid. My mom told me about visiting cousins in Sacramento in the late 50's-early 60's (I was born in '63) and the wonders of the car world she saw there.

4 ladies out for a cruise. The local 59 Impala/335 hp hot rod guys chasing them. Hello, From the time I was able to steer a car, this was one of the first cars I actually was able to drive down a neighborhood street in 1954. My cousin's mom had a 52 Chevy 4 door with skirts. She always parked it in her driveway, so backing it up and going around the block was easy. There were times when she was visiting a neighbor and we borrowed that car to try our skills at driving. We knew how the clutch/shifting/gas pedal worked after many hours of sitting in the driveway pretending to drive around the city. When we actually started the motor and tried out the clutch, that was something. Our record for distance was around two neighborhood blocks near our elementary school. Jnaki Later on in 1959, I took this cool movie of "4 ladies out for a spin." At the time, it was just a family movie for my mom's friends to see. Many years later, it is a classic part of car history.
