Anyone else building old dodge/plymouth other mopars?

I've got a Wayfarer I'm working on this winter. It's got a Volare front suspension, 8 3/4 rear, and a 318.
Just got a new set of big and little Whitewalls on wires too.

 

I checked, and I never posted on this thread yet. So here are a few shots of my old Dodge. I have owned it for over 35 years, and fell in love with her, as a kid in the 60s. It looked like a rr back then. lol Ron...

Wow! I really like what Don did with his old Dodge. I'm still slowly working through every body panel on mine. For now its black primer, one day it will be dark red metallic. I need to retire so I can get serious about spending more time working on it.

 

I feel your pain... I am hoping to get 3 free hours today on my 1937 Dodge.

Your car looks great in my opinion. I would love to see it when it's done.

yes they are mounted to the roof. I wanted them to look like they are floating. The dome light is a strip of red neon from the 53 ford hood emblem. It runs from front to the rear. I like junkyard parts. thanks Ron...

Guess I never posted in this thread. My '53 Chrysler Town and Country wagon.
360/727 combo
Ford 8" out back (PO did it!)
Power brakes, front discs
Driven many trouble free miles with a few exciting and troublesome adventures thrown in for good measure.

Here is a picture of my Dodge panel truck which is presently stock. I have only driven it once because the brakes need attention. It has old bias tires on it. The front suspension is nice and tight. No play in steering box. To be honest it was a little scary above 45 mph. I never got above 50 . It's hard to describe but it just didn't feel right. I know these were not made for freeway speeds . I am going to fix the brakes and install some radials and drive it again.

 

Radials really make a big difference. Nice ride, appears to be in excellent condition.

Haven't posted for years, sold my 55 Desoto (in the avatar) to help finance our new house in 2012. Bought another project (ot sbc powered 68 Triumph Spitfire) in 2015, and recently swapped it for this 1950 Dodge Coronet coupe. It came with a 318/727 combo and a Dana 44 rear. Shown here in Halloween regalia for a local show!

Here is my '57 Chrysler New Yorker. I've had it for nearly ten years now. Most of that has been spent on real life, and in parts acquisition instead of progress on the car. But it's beginning to shape up.

As I found it in a field in Alvarado, TX. Straight as an arrow with zero rust, but everything was worn out and badly sun damaged. The 392 Hemi was in it, but the block was damaged and half the engine parts were in the trunk.


The vision:


Lowering is pretty easy on these.


Yanking the old engine.


I have a great-running, stock 392 from another '57 NYer that's ready to go in. It's also getting three pedals and a Tremec trans using a Wilcap adapter and an '80s/90s Ford bellhousing and cable clutch. This is the mockup.


It fits and it feels good!



I had to slap some old parts I had laying around on it. Just to see if they fit. They do.


I'm putting all the front suspension back on now. Tons left to do, but I wanted to put something here. Thanks for looking.

I'm working on a '29 Chrysler coupe with a 354 Chrysler Hemi, a "35 Plymouth 5-Window coupe with a 345 Desoto Hemi and a '37 Dodge truck that was a back lot costume truck for MGM studios.

I am building this 50 Dodge short box this summer, 360/727 with a 9 inch rear and 78 Aspen K member up front, basically stock looking for now with some mild custom stuff done as I figure out what I like the looks of on it. I'll use it to pull my 1949 Roadway travel trailer for when the girlfriend and I go camping!



I also recently acquired this really solid and complete Canadian market 1946 Dodge sedan, I just want to get it running and stopping nice and enjoy it!
