Cepe has been driving his 40 Merc everywhere!! It's been in California, Utah, Nevada. It's an iconic car and has a nice shape. He was looking to re do his chop. Replacing bondo with metal & replacing areas of the chop that needed some love. So we redid it. Making a new brow, adding some reinforcement, making new sail panels, catwalk etc. Here are some pics. Oh man, that's a sexy machine right there! Awesome work.

  3. Good looking car you got there. Great lines and a great job on the re-chop. I think if he were here mr Barris would be proud.

Thanks, we did the re-chop metal work. Everything else was done by someone else.
    Thanks!
    Thank you!

  7. You two sure make this stuff look easy, when we all know it's not.

Good to see an owner interested in correcting detail work, and a shop willing to take it on. Raises the bar.

    Thanks!!
Thank you! This Merc is all Clark!! (I'm still rebuilding my strength back up but I hope to be back to it soon!)
    Thanks!
    Thank you!
Thanks, Clark was happy to do it, & glad Cepe wanted to!

    Thanks!
    Thank you so much!
    Thanks a lot!
We are using a Pullmax with thumbnail dies and a machine Clark built also with thumbnail dies, & a kick shrinker.
Thanks! You can learn the skills. Wray Schelin has a great coach building class back east. If you are ever in the states. He also has some videos on line. If you put the time in and are open to learning, & getting past the frustration you can do it! Every once in a while I'll see a car that just punches me in the gut, (in a good way) and this is one of them. The metal work has me completely jealous too.

Perfect...all the way through ! Tell Cepe that Bo's looking down right now and saying: "That chop's got more than "attitude"...it's got "Bad-itude" !"

Wow, that's some of the finest metal work and sheet metal welding I've ever seen! TIG? Car is going to be perfect.

Haha, thanks! We'll let him know.;)
    Thanks!

Thanks a lot! Yes, we tig all the sheet metal.
    Thank you!
    Thanks!

FYI Clark did all the "new" metal work on this Merc while I was in the hospital & unable to work. So all the "Thanks" are on behalf of Clark on this thread. (I don't want anyone to think I'm taking credit for work I didn't do.;))
