Features Show us your "formal" pics of you and your car(s)

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Irishjr, Dec 6, 2016.

  1. I don't know whether this has been done as a thread before, but I think it might be worth doing.

We put a lot of stuff on the threads about the build and pics of historical stuff, but mostly without the owners being pictured. Why not?

I recently had a friend take a picture of me and my wife in formal attire along with my 40 COOP. I got out my opera-go-to-meeting duds and will post the result after this invitation posting. Yes, I wear a tux when I go to the opera and when I bought the old forty back in '72, my wife and I went to see The Daughter of the Regiment by the Metropolitan Opera when they performed in Cleveland. I drove my beater '40 and people commented about the "Opera Coupe" on our way out of the parking garage. Interestingly, the late Luciano Pavarotti was the lead tenor and he was new on the scene and YOUNG!

My goal of this thread is to see the people as well as their cars. You don't have to be in formal clothes, just please wear some clothes. Set up a tripod, stand near your car with you and your friend(s), family, or by yourself, pose nicely and hit the timer button on the camera. Simple as that. How about pictures with your car in a wedding celebration? Hopefully, the thread will be filled with pics, be they old pictures with young people or current pictures with old people. How about posting group shots with whole clubs?

And guys, please don't post too many snide or rude comments about people or cars on the thread. Let's have fun with this.

  4. I fell in love with my wife completely when she urged me to spend money we didn't have to buy the '60 Caddy I had always wanted. A couple years later we got married in it. Then we had some munchkins and I drove them around in it. They got bigger and we took it surfing, fishing, to their First Communions, trick or treating, to ball games and scouting events, to school just about every day. We just took it up to NH to say goodbye to and bury my mom. They will get their driver's licenses in this beast, you could say it's part of the family. Probably more formal pics to come.
