  2. This pic I am very proud of...........it's the same guy with the same car, some 43 yrs apart......as mentioned, car was purchased from orig owner by my youngest brother in very early 70's (I drove this car then as a stocker on several occasions) and I took pic of my youngest son Paul at 3 yrs old standing on running board.......come 43 yrs later, I had pic of Paul with foot on running board taken at Ocean Park Ford event Sept/15........then had both pics "melted together" for pic below..........

Cool to see. That is my car. It was my Dads car, painted Kandy Tangerine in 1969 won MSRA car of the year in 1971. He gave it to me in 1993, he drove it so many miles I flamed it with the help of Dave Bell in 1996. Grew up in "Sunkist" with lots of fond memories with my Dad, Mom & Brother. The photo there is the last time I drove it to 50s as the motor is really tired and needs an overhaul. Thanks for posting the photo!

I don't think that there is a car that is more suited or wears a Flame Job as well as these do.

I'll play along too. 39 Std with original paint, a work in progress:

Doing very conservative, or I guess sympathetic paint repair, the whole car will go up an inch or two so I can run bigger front tires, the interior will be all new, running a stock flathead for now with a 12V charging system. there's a build thread here:

Having cruised every page on this topic (go figure, huh?) I've come to the conclusion that small fronts and excess rake doesn't really get it done. Maybe if you live where roads stay flat and cozy you could get by, but this is Michigan. I'd beat it to death leaving it that low. Sad state of affairs to be sure, however, this one that's also posing here is just right. This I could get by with...

I can't believe I was having a discussion the other day about whether or not a 40 Tudor should have chrome reverse wheels. I mean come on... look at this thing.

@Dan Hay Congrats on getting that rig moving under it's own power.

I was out picking up some parts in Langley a couple months ago, on a normal weekday afternoon, saw your '39 go by on 200th, just south of Fraser hwy. So yea, he drives it, I can vouch for that.

  24. George...........got 2800 mi on 39 now & it's sitting in garage waiting for this shitty wet weather to quit...........then it'll back into the sunshine with a bunch of highway miles planned for 2017..........

That's a REALLY cool photo, I like that! We have photos like that in my family album, but they are all yellowed around the edges. Cool stuff!
