  2. Funny, I was feeling like hypocrite since I have not touched my 55 Chevy in a year...now I have 2 1/2 36 coupes and I need more motivation. HELLONWHEELS went MIA like I did on my build thread.
    Karma is a mother F'r :(

    ...over.

I can't thank you enough for posting all of these pictures and descriptions of your work. We are working on a '36 5w that has been a work in progress since the early 70's. Its been hashed over a few times and we've never tackled anything like this. If it wasnt for your pictures and descriptions (and others posts too), we wouldnt be able to do our build. SO THANKS!!!!

Nah, he's just busy. It's sitting in his shop dreaming of being a real car someday. He probably should get out there and see what I drew on the roof...

After all the cars you cut up to start this project you gotta finish it.

I'll add my 2 cents since I am his old shop mate. I just looked at his profile page and he last logged in March 31, 2013!!!

In a nutshell, he picked up a serious girlfriend & he's really big into music/playing in bands, etc. Between girls, bands, & restoring old guitars & amps... well, the '36 has been pushed to the wayside! He has one major downfall... and that is that he's a perfectionist. It slowed down the work long enough for him to realize he's overwhelmed with a massive undertaking and he no longer had the desire to chug away at it. I think cash flow is another obstacle, but in the end, not enough determination because his other interests come first. There used to be a lot of activity in the shop to help egg a guy on, but people finished cars, attendance was low, enthusiasm dropped, the days got hot, the beers got warm... and so the story goes.

Sorry MJ if you finally read this and it upsets you, but I think it's the truth. I think you should've just hot rodded that '35 5Window... you'd be tearing up the streets of Austin on the way to your gigs! ;o)

Thanks for the update 3blap! I can totally understand, my projects are all the same, that is why I really enjoyed following this build. I get to a point on one then start another, it is a hobby, having fun is the reason you are in it, finishing things isn't for everyone. I've never been turned away from an event in 50 years for not having a driving vehicle. Happy Thanksgiving! Bob
