I just bought these off of craigslist and have no idea what they fit. They are obviously not ford. I'm sure there are guys on here who will know.
Were they factory installed heads or some sort of aftermarket thing? I would have thought that the potential for aftermarket parts for Cords would be rather limited. Nonetheless, they are very cool and obviously some rare birds.
It turns out they are factory heads and have little or no value. I'll give them to my wife to paint on for one of her art projects.
While there may not be many Cord automobiles out there, where would a guy find heads if he needed them? I might advertise them on a place those types frequent. AACA forum comes to mind.
"bohnalite" was I think a tradename. It could be found inside the skirt on HD factory pistons for many years.
Yes, and on Detroit Diesel blowers as well. Not sure, but I think it was the trademark of Bohn Aluminum and Brass, which had advanced die casting techniques and did a fair bit of subcontract parts manufacturing for the auto makers.
As installed on the Cord. Talk about over driving the generator! (Although I am sure that large pulley comes off the cam drive so it is already reduced 2:1) Cutaway showing the horizontal valve layout.
I believe the rockers have rollers that contact the cam lobes also..Many years ago I found an engine at a dump that had a similar arrangement, memory says it was a strait six but could have been a cord minus the manifolds, was fifty years ago..
