Wow, that '39 looks like a really nice car. '39 Tudor Deluxe is one of the cars I would like to build someday. What are your plans for it?
It has no drive train, but came with a drop axle in it. Some new parts (lenses etc.) and a Bronco nine inch. I'm planning a TCI parallel leaf kit for the nine. My Avatar is a '40 Std Tudor my Dad bought in early '65 and will pass on to one of my kids. Very similar to yours. I had a '39 DeLuxe Coupe in High School. I always loved the banjo steering wheel and the crank out windshield. Got a stroker flatty in mine tho. Also have had two '40 Ford pickups over the years. '39-'40 cars and '40-'41 pickups hold a special place in my heart! Have always had one around me since I was 10 years old. Crap! That's 52 years now! Dave

Very cool car. My very first car was a 39 DeLuxe tudor, bone stock. What is that y shaped gizmo with can on the upper part of the firewall? Don't remember that on my 39....

I'm doing some more cleaning and crud removal. Its warm enough out here to paint the firewall and inner fenders now. But then I found this where the firewall meets the toekick area. It is not uncommon to find cracks in old cars. The body mounts get old and the roads they traveled weren't the best and the frames had some designed flex in them.
I would drill the end of the crack so the crack can't go any further, wire wheel it so it's clean bare metal and weld it up.
