I love them, always wanted one. I was looking at a Starlight coupe a couple of years ago, and really wanted it. But I just didn't have the space for it. I hate when that happens.

I like the Starlight coupe a lot, the wrap around back window really makes it. I'm not knocking your car, in its day it was a sensation (compare it to other 1947 cars). But, I really want a 1951 Commander V8 Starlight coupe.

I like it. Shows how frumpy
the Big Three's styling was in 46-48.

I remember as a kid the lady that sold Avon products would go door to door and the trunk looked like a supermarket. Later I helped a friend paint his and was amazed that all of the sheet metal was bolted on to the body shell. About the only things to mask off was the glass.
My personal favorites were the '53-'54 coupes. In the late 50s the trend was to swap in a V-8 from a Cadillac and they were called Studillacs.

How could anything that was so ugly it would make a freight train lake a left turn on a dirt road back then be so cool now !!
Puked when I used to see them in the 50's and 60's but would love to have one now... Way Cool :)

I always have the mad rush on those things back in the early/mid 90s come to mind whenever I see one. It was almost as if you couldn't pay enough for one if you found it. The next mad rush was (still is a little bit) the Zephyr. Almost anything orphaned or odd can be a winner with a little restraint.

I like the front grill better than the later bullet nose, but the rear is too long. It needs a foot or more chopped out of the middle to make the proportions right. Now if it was set up as a tail draggin' custom ,the long tail would fit in just right.

Do you plan to keep jt stock or rod it? I have always been a die hard hot rodder and customizer, but I come to a point where it would be impossible for me to cut on a nice survivor . That one would end up being a Sunday back country road cruiser!! Larry

im going to have to keep it stock. its such a piece of history and it runs so good, it doesn't have overdrive though, and it doesn't go real fast, the only thing I might do is put a 350 in it with a 700r4 trans which I have, I don't know yet. its an around town type car now.
