"Canadian BBQ" - I didn't know you could put those two words together. Awesome cars.

But my question is,,, was there really a Canada trip? Or was this novella just the delusions of a medicated mind?
The images, though beautiful, are they truly vehicles that were captured by a photo process that no longer exists? As we know the Kodachrome of Paul Simon is history, and the plastic that was made to hold emulsion's is now being used to make grocery bags. So fess up Boss, was this real? Or Memorex?

    Excellent

You came up to Canada to drink Molson's when there are hundreds of great craft beers made here= fail.
Nobody here drinks that weasel piss or Labatts.

Actually, this story is pretty much dead on accurate. Crazy Ukrainian landlord, fireworks, etc... It all happened.

I'm a man. I have hair on my chest. I use stick deodorant. I do not drink craft beer... ever.

Not to worry, your Russian landlady was more likely Russian mafia than a socialist conspirator.

And Gastown in the evening is quite nice. Hastings street at 3am is another story.

  12. Geez boss, that's like saying you will only drive a minivan, built by robots. I build what I drive and drive what I build... which is why I don't drink mass-produced swill. It's not craft as in macrame or needlepoint, it's craft as in hand-crafted, by very craftsmen. Real ingredients, and made by actual humans. Craft brewers are the hot rodders of the beverage industry. I figured you of all people would get it.

    Anyhooo...

Vancouver is a great city, and those are some great cars. That coupe is awesome. Nice shots too.

The profile of Brad's coupe is striking, I just stared before going on. All three are cool and, even considering your condition, I think the shots are pretty great. Thanks, I miss Labatts and Molsons myself.

I found Gastown to be amazing. I loved the area.... the history, the grit, the revival... There were a lot of shady looking folks walking around for sure, but I think they probably thought the same of me.

Tongue and cheek man. One of me best pals founded and runs one of the most popular micro breweries in the state of Texas. I like some craft beers... but, ultimately, I'm a tequila guy and find most craft beers to be too hoppy.

We used to go to clubs there when I was an apprentice down for school. Lots to see and do for a twenty year old from a town of 3000 people.......

  17. Got me hook line and sinker. Now don't get me started about tequila... :D

Nothing wrong with a Molson Canadian every once in a while, My dad used to drink Molsons Golden years ago (I would help him get rid of some on the sly). I have the same issue with "craft beer" but then again I like rye Whiskey

  20. That '34 looks wicked to say the least. Beautiful fall shots!
I would love to hear that thing running.....

There are plenty of good beers to drink, Canadian isn't one of them.

I used to call it "death in a glass", their draught beer anyway. 4-5 pints of that stuff
and all the Tylenol in the world aint going to help you.
Saw that car at White Rock in September, looks fantastic. IMG_2406.JPG

I'm glad there were no Alligators in your room, but you had an Attorney with you, and with a head full of meds, all you needed was a red convertible, to complete the picture. :D

Canadian BBQ? Is that something like a hockey stick dipped in A1 sauce?

Gotta say, I like this post. Good job Ryan, you did a good job of capturing some of the feel for the place. Vancouver has changed radically in the last 20 years, but it really is a beautiful city, with a feel all its own. Sometimes I look at the taxes, real-estate prices and cost of living, and wonder if I should sell and get the hell out of here. But then I head across the Port Mann on a sunny spring morning, and look to my right up the Fraser, and see that North Shore vista in front of me, never gonna happen. I travel a lot, but my heart is still firmly stuck here, in spite of all the changes. This is an amazing place. Theres a LOT to see here Ryan, and a lot of contrasts, next time, come in spring, stay longer and take a day trip east on the north side of the river, you have just scratched the surface here.
