***The Definitive Flathead Exhaust Thread with VIDEO***

I've just finished reading all of the available threads on this topic, and whilst there is a lot of good information, and suggested combinations, Porter v Smithy v Mellow Tones v Open pipes, 1 3/4 v 2" etc etc...the one thing that they are really lacking is VIDEO. I know that there is some stuff on YouTube, but it is often a bit vague without the real info needed. It would be great to have all the information in one spot.

Now considering every phone has a camera, the H.A.M.B app at your finger tips, it's time to get out there and film (links are cool, if it makes it easier too, or if there is some existing stuff out there)


Please post your videos, with a description of your flathead, exhaust size, straight pipes, muffler length/size, cu inches, cam, carbs, blown....

CheatersPete's '32 Roadster....








It is a 255 ci french flathead, full ported, Literio L100 cam. Home made long tube headers, pipes are 2.5 inches with little inline silencers at the end.... like a motorcycle silencer. Carbs are 94's, intake is an NOS Navarro Super Dual, Navarro heads, stainless steel valves......

 

Franck Fuochi's European Deuce Sedan (Cheaters Car Club) 5" chop, factory suicide doors! 286ci French Flathead, 1007b Isky cam, home made blower set up with a 4/71, 5psi boost. Fenton headers, Smithy mufflers 2.5" dual exhaust.

 

Please note that on the second video the intake is a regular intake with an homemade sliingshot...

My 221ci stock 40 Ford flathead. Stock exhaust manifolds, Red's Headers exhaust extensions to Walker 24041 mufflers, and 1 3/4" tail pipes. I had just finished putting on an Offenhauser regular dual, with the rear carb blocked off, and had capped the heat risers.

 

1951 F1 - Navarro heads and intake, 284 cu in French Flathead. Reds Headers and Porter mufflers ( unsure size or diameter of pipes or mufflers - I will endeavour to update later)

There 2 1/2"

 

259ci, 3x2 Stromberg 97's, Schneider 425 cam, weedburner exhaust, runs on Methanol.

 

32 sedan with .030 over 1948 Merc flathead. Harmon Collins full race cam and dual coil ignition, edelbrock heads and slingshot intake, 2" straight stainless pipes, no mufflers.

Flat Ernie's stock 221 flathead with Fenton cast iron headers, 1-3/4" dual exhaust from Red's headers, long Brockman steelpaks.

"I've since replaced those with short Brockman steelpaks and it sounds better, but I don't have any video of it and the car is in storage right now."

59ab stock. 30 over. First run of a rebuilt engine.
Running short pipes with bells and a short round-track muffler. These sound great on any flathead.
Turn your volume up.
