The SE Gasser Finals at Greer Dragway are in the books. I shot over 150 photos. I'll post some on here (and the full take on a SmugMug gallery) as soon as I get back from picking up the dog from the vet. (Dog went into diabetic shock last night about 2 AM and we had to make a dash to the emergency vet). As soon as things settle down I'll retun to this thread and post my take...meanwhile, here's a teaser.
Thank you Tom,you ALWAYS do a exceptional job at capturing the feel of every event you capture with you amazing lens. It was great to see you yesterday,I hope your Dog improves. HRP
I'll be watching for your return Tom, and hoping for your dog's recovery. Didn't get to make Greer finals and am anxiously waiting for news/pics.
'Back from the Vet's...dog still isn't out of the woods, but improving so hopefully will get a good report tomorrow. Back to the SE Gasser Finals from today. Here are a bunch of pics I shot today, with a link to all of them at the end, or simply click on Tombo's Photos in my sig line. This event just keeps getting better and better...this year continued the trend with a record crowd, estimated by the track owner to be in excess of 3,000. People came from all over the country. I personally talked to folks from TX and MI and I'm sure there were other states represented as well. Good times... Here's the link to all the stuff I shot. https://tombo.smugmug.com/2016-SE-Gasser-Final-Race/
It was a great day at the races! Did anyone get some photos of our Dragster Tick Tock? Plain aluminum body hey we pulled the chute for the crowd and ran a personal best ET so fun stuff. All the guys in the dragster pits were thinking end of the year use up this fuel and tired engines etc so they were all dosing with a little nitro--Danny Sanlin ran a whopping 4.90 something WOW!!! Bob Hustler had new paint on his yellow and black 180 incher and also ran a super fast 5.30 something--We drained the alky--added a tank of VP M-5 alky and picked up almost two tenths for a fun 5.45 The blown Hemi car pooched a head gasket but still had smiles from fun day! The crowd was friendly--program moved along pretty well and those darn gassers were just plain hauling A%& Thanks go out to Quain and the entire bunch for a great season and great effort to REVIVE action at the drags--a crowd that big is just simply amazing. Now,,back out to the shop to coax a few more tenths out of the old girl Special shout out to Beachbum Jim and his wife--really enjoyed seeing you guys--make your reservations for Steel in Motion now Thanks Danny for advice and the hot fuel And... a special Thanks to the Sweetest lady at the track Sat--The Dixie Twister "chick" Christy-- that helped us stage and backed me up all day --The best friends ever are made at the race track!
