Aaron -- The discussion was about powder coating radiators, not painting them. Radiator manufacturers say that if you paint a radiator, you should use a very light coat of paint, so that you don't insulate the radiator from the air surrounding it. Insulating the radiator from the air around it reduces the amount of heat the radiator can transfer to the air, which is what cools the coolant inside. Powder coating is about 10 times as thick as a good layer of paint, so that's a bunch of insulation.
Working on fuel lines this morning. Been to every auto parts store in this town. No "ford nut" carb fittings. I figured our local napa would have it. No dice.
Not much progress lately, i did weld some new brackets on my radiator, which had to come up one inch for fan clearance. Ordered some lower hoses from AULIZ here on the hamb. Had to trim an inch off the ends but they worked perfect to make the connection Grille shell mounted. Looks pretty good
Made a little progress lately. Ive been hunting for a 33/34 front wishbone for my suspension. I knew the 35 i had wasnt gonna work fo what i needed. I was lucky enough to track down one here locally. Made the deal and went picked it up. Got it installed on the axle and put it all back under th car. Fabbed up a bracket off my f-1 trans crossmember to mount the ball. Ill finish welding it when i pull the body back off Had to drop the steering arms to clear the wishbone to run the tie rod underneath. Not sure if i did this the right way but i took measurements and scribed some lines on the backingplates and made sure everything lined back up When i put the front axle back together i used a super low reverse eye front spring. Hard to tell in the pic but it lowered the front a good bit. Mocked up some 682j guide headlights i got from a buddy My little helper (in high heels) working on my tire.
\ thanks guys! the plan Wednesday when I get off of work is to pull the 35 banjo out and start tearing it down for a rebuild. Got a new set of 3.54's to put in it. also gonna order a reverse eye main rear spring to get the rear down just a hair.
Lodad You're going to love that Odyssey battery. I've had the same one in my 32 for almost 5 years & love it. Starts my big flathead just fine Jim

Got the banjo pulled out and tore down. It was a 4.11 r&p. Axle seals and carrier bearing races knocked out and i pressed the pinion out of the housing. I didnt get a picture of the contraption i used to press the pinion out. Put a little heat on it and she popped right out. Axles and spider gears look really good. Gonna clean it all up and start setting up the 3.54's tomorrow. No idea what im doing but i have the service manual to help me out
