About a week ago I had seen an ad for this 27 Tfordor. I quickly dismissed it as the seller was just looking for trades and I had nothing to trade. Finally I figured I had nothing to lose so I called. After a bit of discussion I could tell he was a bit discouraged dealing with craigslist lowballers and junk pedallers. So asked for a price. I won't say how much but to my surprise it was very low for the bodies quality. I mean practically rust free, with all the glass, working doors and windows? It has the original vinyl top with no cracks or blemishes! It has the original headliner! I was blown away. So this was mid afternoon when I called and he told me there was someone in front of me he had to wait for that had said they wanted it. He also stated that had been happening all week. I texted him a picture of the cash in my hand haha! So I waited... (not so patiently) True to his word he contacted me at around 7pm with the good news. We set up a time for me to stop out and look (buy) it. When I arrived I was blown away! He is such a great guy and a true hot rodder. He's a body man himself and has some great rides in his stable. I guess he acquired this body in partial payment for restoring another for someone. He's a 50's-60's car guy so this wasn't his thing hence why he was selling. I am extremely grateful to have met him and more so to have found such a beautiful body to start with. The plan is to build it into a 60's style hot rod. I have already started collecting parts. Probably going to run a small block ford with a blower and an automatic (for ease of driving in traffic). It will sit with a rake and will not be chopped. Not going to be slammed at all and I'm going to try and make it as period correct as possible. I have done a couple rat rods (with traditional traits, not all that gaudy shit you see around). And want to build a REAL hot rod. Take my time and do it correctly. My kids are grown and I have a bit more income. And best of all my wife is on board haha! What I tool around in currently. The 27 T will be no rat, I assure you. [/URL][/IMG]
Congrats - building your own frame? stock frame needs to be stretched to make room for V8 - of course you could always just sit in back seat.
I am no expert on Fordor Model T's, but it looks earlier to me. Such a nice body, any fenders come with? Also. love to know the $$$ cost of doing business..?
Damn that is a solid body, great score. I look forward to seeing your build come together. The body looks '26-'27 to me, the cowl & A pillar are the clincher.
Thanks all for the comments. It's a 27, the guy that I got it from used the chassis to restore another to original and is titled as a 27. These guys are very knowledgeable in this field. I guess it couldn't hurt to say the price. I paid $1000 for it, and it's worth 3x that easily. The pictures truly don't do it justice. I need to really take my time on this and do it right. I have been trying to find pictures of these as a hot rod, it seems they are not very popular for that.

Ye, it looks like a '23 or '25, because it's the same body. Ford did not re-tool to make a different Fordor body for '26-7, they used the same body they had been using for a few years. They put '26-7 fenders, etc, on them but the body itself is the same as earlier ones. Unlike other '26-7 Ford body styles, this one is built using a wooden framework with the steel panels tacked on, as were all the earlier Ford bodies.
This is a 27 fordor. This is pre 1925 the black one. It is longer and notice how the hinges mount to the pillar. That pillar is also different. Mine is a 27. and here again is 27>>>
