Thanks for taking such a fine photo of my coupe Dan. I should be more careful about what I park in front when a shooter as talented as you is around. Can you do anything in post to put a more period, relevant or interesting (within reason) background behind my car? :)

Thanks again for coming up, shooting and sharing such fine photos of a great event.

You're welcome heavydumper and thanks so much for your comments. I have done that on occassion, but to get something really exceptional, it takes quite a bit of time, especially when there is a lot of detail to mask around like your car's exposed engine. It also takes finding a background where the lighting kind of matches what the car was in when it was shot. I did look through my shots to see if there were any others of it where it did have a better background but I did not seem to find it in any, at least not by itself. If I get to come back next year, and I really hope I do, we'll make sure to get it with a great background.

Does anyone know who built the '53 Ford above? Looks like he used a '51 Mercury rear window. I was wanting to do the same in my '53 and I have the window and sheetmetal, would love to hear from the builder to find out if there were any difficulties making it fit.

The car's design really needs a wraparound rear window and the Merc unit is one of very few that can be successfully leaned forward. I like it.

Great pics as always Dan Greenberg! Almost like being there.

Trevor Robinson from Snohomish, Wa. I think it's a '52. He's on Facebook, may be able to contact him that way.

If it had you would not have seen this pickup you also shot pics of. He swapped rides and finished the run in it. For those really wanting to see the custom 52 , it should be at the GNRS in January [IMG]

Cool - so it worked out anyway. GNRS will not have the scenery this run had.

Runs like this are so much more fun than a static car show. Not to say I don't like an indoor car show now and then but getting out there and driving the car in a beautiful area and sharing the experience with other like minded people is what I enjoy the most.

So I see you are posting at 4 AM Dan.....now I know how you keep all of these threads going....You just don't sleep ;).

I agree 100% 39 guy. The reason for the early posting is so I could get one in before heading to the airport to go to Maryland for Jalopyrama. So there will be one more thread starting next week some time. This one is nowhere near done, but there will be a bit of a break in posting until Sunday night.

I'm back from Jalopyrama - so all my threads will start being active again and their will be a new one for Jalopyrama, of course, starting in a day or two.

ct1932ford - I have another of that roadster coming without the side curtains too.
I am guessing this one is a 53 Olds with some Buick trim added. Wrong - it's a53 Buick Special - thanks Squawblo for the info.

Pretty sure that aqua colored car is a '53 Buick Special with the trademark side trim shaved. The Special shared the body with the Olds 88 in '53.

Thanks a lot for this bit of info Squablow - all the other 53 Buicks have different rear fenders.
