Never realized how tall the rockers were on these until seeing yours without any, It will look a lot lower once you get those on...... Its gonna make a cool car, keep up the good work!

Hudsons are so unique looking. Every time I see one I think "doodle bug" like the insect, not the VW. My grandfather called the bugs "pill bugs". I can just see those cars rolling up into a little ball. Awesome project!

  7. Awesome project. Your in way deeper than I have ever been.
Here is a quick vid of a Hudson pacemaker I repowered. At the request of the owner we installed a 304/727 from a 1960s IH. Also the Dana 44 rear from a scout.

He is ripping around his horse track.

He owns Barnes IH. Deals exclusively in Harvester parts. So he had to have an IH drivetrain in this.

When I was in tech school 74-75 , one of the guys bought . A Hornet had been garged by the perveribly old lady . Cherry would be a understatement . He paid $300 for it , it got a Carcoa paint job and drivin daily . Mohair was still very nice .

Paint is under $50.00 a gallon, and easy to apply. Should be about right for a Doc Hudson look alike. s-l1600.jpg th.jpg

I like the small red accents in the trim and caps too.

I thought you said you weren't like a master craftsman.
    I'd kinda argue that.

Pictures make it look better than it actually is, originally thought I would learn how to run lead, but I'm going to move forward and revisit bodywork later.

Thanks, I fix everything on the car in an attempt to build a low budget car, I've got about $1200.00 in it now, but the hours have added up to over 1200. I'll need to spend some money on the drivetrain, but I'm a mechanic, so that don't scare me. I wanted to see what it would take to save an old car that was to far gone. All it takes is time and money, it is very rewarding, and it keeps me out of trouble.
