Local auction coming up, has this in the photo gallery. http://www.kastliauctioneering.com/auctionimages/Oct8/87.JPG Looks 26/27-ish to me, but not 100% sure of make. Thanks.....Roger
Yeah that is definitely a 31 cowl but the header over the windshield is 28 29 pick up. I suspect it was a doodlebug tractor that someone cobbled together. The header, gas tank and firewall are worth decent money if they are intact. My max on it would be $100.00.
Now I see where someone welded the upper 28 29 pick up A pillars to the 31 A pillars. It's still worth $100.00 to me but not anymore.
Could it be from some type of panel van like a REA Express truck or postal truck? That would be a possible explanation for the header panel. Just a thought.
That header was throwing me off, too. I sure missed the vintage, but was thinking a car/truck combination of parts. Thanks, guys....we'll see where the auction takes it, come saturday. Roger
No it's exactly what I just told you it was. What you are asking never existed. It's an old farmer fix to make a tractor.
Tractors don't need windshields. So, we don't know exactly what kind of farmer modification this was. Could have been a coupe or sedan converted to pickup using an earlier cab-irrelevant since the rest of it is gone. Those that correctly identified it as a 31 didn't say, but recognized the teardrop impression where the fuel shutoff was moved under the hood instead of under the dash.
