My buddy Chris flew in from the UK today. Put him to work with a sharpie. He knocked this out in 15 minutes!
    Cheers,
    Stewart.

This is Stewart rolling up to the line to make his first pass yesterday. Everything went well, and we are all really proud of him for pulling this off. I am honored to have been a part of it and to have my name on that decklid.
I will leave it up to Stewart to tell you the details, but the car worked well (we were working on it till 10:30 pm the night before) and he is a happy record holder. I tried to upload a video, but the HAMB wouldn't let me or something. I'll keep trying.

No thats how they always design stuff...your just following code...:D Case in point, one of the parts I build the part is completely assembled and then you drill 8 more holes...if you muff one it all has to be undone as there is no repair fix for a bad hole in those 8 holes. So the part is removed and tossed and replaced...big job.
You just designed it for those with lots of patience. The other thing is walking a mile in an design engineers shoes...a big task...;)

I watched Stewart run on Saturday, knowing the story and what went into getting the roadster ready for the weekend made it kind of a moving experience. I spent some time in the morning looking the car over pretty well, it's unbelievably cool. I'm biased because I really like T roadsters, but this is right there with the Woody Lee roadster as one of my favorites. Well done to Stewart and all those who helped.

Stewart really has a good eye for proportions. We all think the car has a great look , and it's very well constructed. It passed tech on the first try Friday morning with no problem (we did have to take a bolt out of the drag link to run a flexible brake line under instead of over) and it performed flawlessly all weekend.
I can't wait for Stewart to chime in and fill everyone in on the details. Sunday went very well.

image.jpeg So 2 records and a top speed of of 102.22mph, and a sunburnt face! 2 messed up gear changes and deciding which gears to run in (3rd) were the only tuning we did. The car was finished last Sunday afternoon driven round the block twice and put on the trailer. Coming up to the the line for the first time my bum was well puckered. Would it shimmy at 60mph? Did I tighten every bolt? The car went flawlessly. I am well happy. Had a giggle all weekend. Lots of friends there to give me crap.Felt like a bunch of naughty boys who just got away with something they shouldn't have!
    Cheers,
    Stewart.

Right! Don't forget this car is built with autocross in mind also. Unfortunately, the ECTA announced at the driver's meeting that this was, in fact their last event in Wilmington. They currently have no idea where they will run next. It was good while it lasted, and I hope the new location isn't too far south.
Autocross events are popping up everywhere,it seems.

    Stewart,
I'm the guy with the Southern accent who told you I knew Kiwi Paul Gilbert.....I hope you remember the Bonneville decal conversation!
REALLY, REALLY enjoyed talking with you and seeing you run the car. BIG CONGRATS on the records!
I attend ALL ECTA meets and always take a boatload of pics and post them on landracing.com. I'm on there as gkabbt and here is the link from last weekend:

Not only do I do the picture thing but I also do internet audio streaming. The streams are live during the day and then I archive it at the end of day. You can listen to the archive and hear Brian Lohnes announce your runs. Here is the link to that thread:

Again, REALLY GREAT to meet and talk with you!
