  8. Hey guys, great thread... Can I join in? Just finished some art for fellow HAMB member mctim64.
He commissioned the art I’ve titled "Field Truck of Dreams” based on his Uni. Tim also released it
to me as part of my “Dreamer” series.

Just picked up this 63 big back window !

Nice little truck. Driver quality. Some paint bubbles here and there. But it's all there. Haven't decided if I wanna flip it or build it!

  10. Here's a thread where I flipped a front axle, corrected the geometry, on a '62 Uni. Has been proven stable up to nearly 150 mph in land speed racing. As much of a step by step with pictures as possible. Hope it helps:

20161001_171723.jpg 20161001_171800.jpg I've been working on my 62 for the last few months. Everything works now. Just need to figure out how to drop it.

Hey great lookin truck. PM me for more info, however lowering depends on budget and your fab skills. Flipping front axel was my choice and the rear I lengthened shackles and removed springs. You can also follow my build thread

Thank you. Im pretty open cost wise but I would like to do it myself. I was hoping to just pull a few leafs front and rear as i only want a 2-3 inch drop but ive read that's pretty bad to do. I was going to have the leafs de-arched but they wont because of the pitting. (Doesn't look that bad to me to be honest) I'm not sure what direction i want to go. I only plan to drive it to the occasional Rat Rod show in the summer time. Any input would be great. Thanks.

Since this post is back on the top again, thought I would update a little progress on my '62.

Put in an Industrial Chassis/Dakota front suspension.
Built a smooth tailgate and frenched the hinges.
Got it ready for a big window section in the back of the cab.
Re-worked the inner fenders so they were mirror images of each other.
    Mounted the 390 (with a 428 crank) and C6.
Tightened up the taillight openings a little. Also welded all the box cap seams.
Also started the interior. Scat buckets and Ididit tilt/shift column.

Also have a 4 bar and panhard bar for the 9" rear going in next.

Removing leafs is fine, just do three at first every other one. Keeping the main leaf and start from there. Depending on how tired they are you might get the drop you need. There a lot of variables though. Some shops don't want the responsibility messing with springs. But occasionally you can find one. It's takes a lot to drop over 4 to 6 inches. Flipping axel, maybe drop axel, just remember you'll have to start compensating for the steering and ride when you lower things. To eliminate any bump n steer you should raise steering box the amount you lower. However 2 3 inches may not have to. Just my 2 cents.

I told him he better take two cases and he complained "But the guy only said one!"

Only 15 and he's already a cheap ass.
