The first photo is, I believe, Bobby Unser in the Arciero Lotus at Pikes Peak.

And Sir Stirling Moss is driving the 500 cc Formula 3 Cooper in the second shot.

Looks like Piney Woods Rooters to me, the pride of 'River Crest'.

  9. Not necessarily - size usually dictated the "park model", plus full sized toilets, stoves and refrigerators and lack of grey and black water tanks. Lots of smaller travel trailers had big wrap around windows, and found out later they leaked a lot over time - hence the brisk rehab trade of today.

Years ago I had a 16' Jayco '75, which had suffered 'mule' damage, Bought it for $300, kept in a shed for 5 years, Looking at the 'stick' construction I decided I couldn't fix it well, sold it for $3oo, bought a '75 Chevy Plumber van for $500, went camping in it for 15 years at swap meets, had fun.

Believe this is hand tinted (Marshall Oils), which was very popular before color became widely available. Nice job. I've seen this image many times in B&W. Gary

That began as a LSR car by Joel Thorne and Art Sparks which was sold off to Lou Fageol before it was completed. Fageol used it as the basis for his "Supersonic" prototype. 9-23-e.JPG 9-23-f.JPG

That bus looks so modern compared to the cars. I guess it's because bus shapes haven't changed as much as car bodies have......either way it really sticks out to me!

And speaking of streamlined vehicles, can anyone ID the coachbuilder on this bus? Taken at Canadian, Texas, 1946:

And since we're in Canadian, TX, might as well add some more. All new to the H.A.M.B., from 1928 to 1963:

  25. I know I'm not the only one that would like to be able to get up close and walk around all three of those vehicles today.
