OK, guys. I'm in. This is our '51 Henry- J in Seattle. We started it four years ago, and just now finished. Totally street legal with a 3" Crower Injector (Not EFI) 496" BBC, TCI Full Manual T- 400, Trans brake, TCI 4500 Stall, Strange N/Case, 456 Detroit locker, 35 Spline axles. 12x15 ET's Rear, 4.5x15 Fenton Gyros Front, Old Elco Tank on front is used with a Holley float bowl adapted on it to serve as a surge tank for the Hilborn 150-0 pump, and feed from a 16gl fuel cell and Holley Blue pump in trunk. Also used a Kinsler Dial-A-Jet that holds 8 pills so tunning is made a bit easier by just turning to Richen or Lean the system. One last piece of the Injection puzzle was to use 3" OD thick wall tubing with 2-5/8" ID to quench the stacks down a bit for the street. Makes it not so choppy at idle and low RPM. Runs GREAT!

  14. Enclosed are recent pictures after getting the car back from
Jason at Arrigo Specialty Metalworks. He did the metalwork
on the quarters, rockers panels, rear body mounts, rear trunk
pan and gutter, lower door bottoms and door skins. Jason only
does metal fabricating, no body work. If you want to check
out some of his other work, his website is listed below.

    Hello,
Back in 1962, a friend had a blue, Henry J with a 409 motor in it. It was mean looking and the interior was pretty spartan. A couple of bucket seats, aluminum firewall, wheel wells cut in the rear, etc. The motor was powerful and lots of people gave thumbs up when we were driving around So Cal at night. On one Easter Vacation(SPRING BREAK), we went to Merle's Drive In in Newport Beach. We got a prime spot in the first, back row spot to be able to watch all of the guys in their hot cars cruise in front of us. This guy in a red XKE Jaguar came rolling by and revved up his motor. It did not sound stock. He wanted to race the henry j. Well, it was hard to give up that prime front row spot, but duty called. So, we had to drive all the way back to Seal Beach to the 2nd St/Westminster Ave race course to race this XKE. Two out of three wins made the night. The jag had a 327 Chevy on steriods as it sounded mean and powerful. This was the Henry J's owner's first race and he was nervous. The Henry J won the first race, the Jag the second and the final race was all Henry J. I was the starter and my friend knew the start sequence with the T-level arm drop.
I would like to know if this blue Henry J with a 409 motor made it all of these years into someone's garage. It was a powerful racer and street driven car. A pure 60's gasser/street driven racer. Anyone purchase a blue Henry J from So Cal?
