    I saw this video about Charlotte Stewart, how she became friends with Jim Morrison.



    In the video I saw some rare (never seen before?) photos of Jim. Anyone any idea what car he drives here?

    I think it's a Mustang...seems like somewhere I've seen footage of him in the desert in it spinning Louie's , it was supposedly abandoned somewhere ?

    Thanks for the reply, but I don't think he is driving a Mustang in these photos. The photos of him driving are taken in 1970-1971, and he crashed his Mustang in June 1969.

    Morrison was driving a Mustang in the "Riders on the Storm" video, made in 1970 or 1971 (from the "L A Woman" album, released in early 1971).

    The Swedish police also had a Ford Woodie? (They still had the left hand traffic in the fifties but all the cars had left hand steering since the mid-forties.)

    The "Riders on the Storm" music video isn't an official video, but a fan made. The footage of Jim Morrison in his Mustang is from the movie HWY: An American Pastoral (1969), to be exact, it was filmed between 2-9 April 1969. A few months later Jim crashed his Mustang on Sunset Blvd, LA. (not 100% sure about that)

    Remastered footage of HWY: An American Pastoral, used in a documentary of The Doors released in 2009.


    So again, he is clearly not driving in his Mustang on these photos.
