Checking in for the month!! only about 45 Days to the Hot Rod Hill Climb in Colorado. Under the gun to finish my coupe. I did get the frame painted and it is now a roller.

If I remember correctly, it's been at least 10 years since we've had so many 90+ degree days in a summer down here- and it's no better with my folks in Philly!

Even with running a fan, all it does is push the hot air around

If BMW shows up with my car don't expect it to sound the same....... they took out it's heart. Ripped off the original body I carefully conserved and made a new "perfect" body so it will never look or sound the same and history is lost forever.

It's OK I still have plenty of things strange and wonderful history to save. IT'S BEEN A GOOD RIDE SO FAR.

Hill climbs are fun....... you go up the hill. If you don't go fast that day you still get a nice picnic lunch back at the bottom

I can still close my eyes and see that car fro so many years ago.

Come to think about it , Bob..The car likes similar to the car that the late Bob Kehoe had and had "redone" by Dennis Webb. Webb is a "panel banger" in Anaheim CA. The car was sold to a fellow (can't remember his name) who has been using it at F.A.S.T. hillclimbs in SoCal. Just my "two cents"

 

That would be nice to confirm, I had Bill Honda make the hood years ago at California Metal Shaping. It had a great bubble on the left side to clear the two side draft Winfields. The Bugatti GP car steering wheel was the closest I ever got to owning one. Bob

That was years before I got my Mercer. We were at Hershey looking for one for Joel.

 

There were things on the car I'd change if I still had it, a narrow radiator shell and tapered hood for one. There is a car out there, at least I hope it is that I'd love to find, frame tail and cowl were still racing in 1952. This is not the one that took 40 years to locate and find out wasn't for sale at any price. Bob

Well, the car that Bob Kehoe had (which might not be the car in question) had a cracked frame. So Bob had the whole car gone through, plating the frame and just about everything else, short of the body panels and upholstery. I'm sorting through some of my old F.A.S.T Newsletters to see if I can come up with a pic of the Kehoe car.

 

So far this is the only view that I can find of the late Bob Kehoe's car.
(for some reason the imagine must be clicked upon)

 

I think I remember someone using/modifying a SBC flexplate for an extremely light weight Model A Banger flywheel.
Does this sound familiar?
Anyone doing this or know how it was done?

Thanks John, that car is so, so "bitch'n"...And Bob Kehoe was indeed a fine person..I Say that, not because he bought me lunch when we first met; but he, for the few years I knew him was the "genuine deal"..

 

Bob was indeed a "Genuine Gentleman", He was the lead person of the 4E4 car approval committee when I met him formally. In fact, He personally went over my LS car as a prospective 4E4 member applicant. As it was his task to find something, he only mentioned the windscreen flange still had some shrink/stretch marks. As a car builder, he was phenomenal, the body work and paint jobs of his Riley Roadster and the '29 Chrysler Roadster are samples of "Excellence". I ended up with his bead cabinet in my shop with the "Bob's Place" name on the door, maybe I can learn something here.

so if I am running a model B motor in a 1932 tudor chassis, with a model A head like a winfield. which water pump am I running? Aren't there a couple of different lengths?

I believe you can purchase an adapter for the B pump if you want to stick with that.

 

Here's the adaptor for a v-8 water pump and block off for the A head.

 

MY concern is specifically around lining up the pulleys for the crank pump and generator. Also clearance with the radiator. I thought there was a longer version and a shorter version? If I use an adapter and my stock B pump won't that push the pulley too far our?
