. . A couple of Pic's of my wife's entry into the car hobby, I have been involved lifetime and she expressed an interest in having her own ride to participate in cruising/shows etc. This Buick was her choice, it caught her eye, fit what she wanted, So.... we have a 51 Buick. Giving her credit, she polish's, cleans, etc, chips in $$$ and helped me when needed on the repairs we have put into car, to make it a reliable cruiser, getting close, only 1 flatbed cruise so far. Our first experience with a classic car, she likes the car and is having fun with it and has won several awards at our local shows, enjoys talking to people, most everyone seems to have story about their family's, Buick and most comment on size of car, straight 8, chrome, etc. NOW she gets "IT" "Happy Wife, Happy Life"

I bought this '49 Special several years ago from some senile old fart in Texas who didn't do a very good job of representing it (long story). It was sold originally in a small town in Iowa (Harlan) and still had the original paint, interior, spare tire, purchase order, and more. It also had a key fob and oil change sticker from a garage in Harlan. I emailed the weekly paper there and asked if anyone remembered the two sisters who bought it new, the Chevy-Buick dealership where it was sold and also the garage which was run by two brothers. I heard from about a dozen people including relatives of the two sisters who bought the car new, employees of the dealership and a son of each of the two brothers who serviced the car at their garage. I sold it about a year later to a guy from east Tennessee....
