Took my driver's test in mint green version of this with a swapped-in "wildcat" motor. It replaced the '57 like my avatar as the family truckster.

Thank's HRP! No blocks... shackles are flipped. Was like that when I got it actually. Still rides great and doesn't bottom out. The 59 has 3 inch blocks.

Thanks! I decided to go with the gold, it has skinny gold scallops on it that are hard to see in the pic. Thought the gold wheels would set it off nicely.

Are there any pictures of that car? The rear glass of mine is still real glass, but spray painted from the inside.
The tailgate weighs like a ton

    Leaking oil? No, sweating horsepower

  18. Really nice, just saw this on in my Rodder's Journal email about the Nats.

Had three...one a '57 Studebaker Broadmoor four door wagon...never got it built.
Next one was a '60 Pontiac Catalina...stuck in a garage since 1983...engine was torn apart, pulled it and put in a '350"...sold it and it went to Detroit. DSCN0008.JPG
Next was a '60 Chevy two door Brookwood, completely rebuilt the car...
Before: what it looked like when we got it .JPG
    After: IMG_4818.JPG
Sold that one and it went to St. Paul...heard it's all painted now...

I owned this '57 Handyman several years ago. It had a 327 and 4 speed and some rust. When I sold it the buyer drove over from Philadelphia in a Saturn and drove the wagon home with the Saturn in tow behind it. (The '57 had a trailer hitch.) I thought that was pretty cool because you don't see that too often....

Your wagons remind me of the ones my parents had when I was growing up, we ran them till they died, then I think they got scrapped many years ago. I wish I had one now.

That wagon could have been an '82 and no one would have complained.
