Fine Home Improvement Contractor, which lends itself perfectly to the Auto Enthusiast hobby.
I do a lot of Specialty Woodwork for Dashboards, Bed Wood, Arm Rests, Boat Parts.

Also, there's a lot of crossover for unconventional material uses.

 

Cargo Surveyor in Rotterdam/Amsterdam for 27 years now. Handling oils, chemicals etc.

 

I'm the guy you call when your Xerox prints the wrong colour or gets yet another @#$%^&* paper jam, not much office stuff anymore, mostly big commercial digital printers.

About the only thing I'd give up working on cars for is a castle project.

 

I help the blind to see. It's all good until they can't find their wallet.

 

I'm a qualified auto-tech, but spend most of my time now designing and fabricating small specialist parts for the NZ racing car/Hot Rod industry.

 

I'm an ER Nurse. Wrenching alone in the shop after a shitty work week(end) is my therapy.

It's good coz you get to see where and how nearly everything is made from aluminium cans, glass bottles, bricks, steel, timber, all industries really.

I also built some nice Race Car trailers at home [to keep me out of trouble]
And I also designed and are building quite a few "spec" Formula Cars to help sharpen my wits when it comes to suspension/brakes.

Up until 1980 or thereabouts, I did anything that involved cars, trucks, motorcycles, boats, airplanes - mixed with rock&roll, girls and booze and knocking heads. Same with everybody in my family - from the assembly line to the boardroom - all car people.

The way I was going, no future - least-ways, not a long one. First one to not earn a living working on something engine-powered since Grandpa Stutzer left the R&D rooms at the Rudolph Diesel factory in Augsburg Germany in 1923 to come to America.

In 1980, I got my Builder's license in the mail, walked out to the garage and threw the lock shut on my Snap-On boxes. I went cold-turkey. And I've been standing wood ever since. First mostly vintage homes in my home town, and the last few decades, production semi-custom homes.

The last year or two, neighbors and friends have talked me into "helping them" with their antique tractors and engines. Even was custodian of a 1956 Caddy (dual-quad "driver") for a spell. I'm telling you folks - these are gateway drugs. I found one of the keys for my old Snap-On boxes a while back and I'm fixing to get serious about having some more fun.

I'm not much for standing around looking at cars - more like that fella "Mr Toad" from Toad Hall. Full throttle or I'd rather take up knitting.

Well, I have the key, and they are Snap-On boxes, so it'll still work. One more move and this time it'll have enough floor space to do this all the time.

I'm a Mortgage Broker. I help people buy bigger homes when they run out of space in the ones they currently own...

Seriously though, I am a mortgage broker and I arranging financing for people to purchase or refinance homes. The biggest satisfaction I get in my job is helping nervous first time homebuyers through the process and getting them into their first home.

Actually, a retired mailman but worked part time several places afterwards.

 

Still medically retired (back issues) from a 32 year career as an X-Ray/CAT Scan Tech, but currently a practitioner of illigitimate gyenocology. I am Butch/56sedandelivery.

Global Product Support Engineer for a medical devices company.

 

For the past 29 years I have worked for a local county as a heavy equipment mechanic. Most of those years has been on fire equipment. Trucks, pumpers, medics, etc. As one guy in my shop likes to say, "we're who the heroes call when they have a problem". But we don't get paid like it! I also worked part time at my buddies auto repair shop. Don't much anymore. But we did a lot of work on drag race cars. Mainly front ends. Gene.

I used to be a lifeguard til that blue kid got me in trouble! Actally I've been a machinist/toolmaker for the last 40 years.

 

haha an associate of mine actually uses "The Loan Arranger" as his marketing slogan.

 

Built racing engines for 25 yrs, then switched my shop over to ' New product design' and designed 20 1/16 scale toy trucks for ' Smith-Miller '

Before that, lead Police Motorcycle mechanic for my local PD.
Before that, I took shiny stuff off of Harley-Davidsons and put shinier stuff back on.
Before that, 25 years as a line monkey in just about every European brand's dealerships that you can think of.



I was even a school bus mechanic in hell at one time......
