  2. And this one might stretch the boundaries a little (since it's a "sporty car"), but it sports a 283 and some minor paint and body changes.. Incidentally, my friend won this as a stocker by winning a Brylcream jingle contest!

Those shots are absolute GOLD! I love the venue. Is that in Saskatoon? Do you know what building it is, and if it's still standing? I also dig the Draggins club plaque on the '52? Ford Tudor

  5. Instant Rubber! No pics of Ian's 59 Chevy??

  6. Brad, I'm pretty sure the indoor venue was the original (?) Exhibition building in Regina(?) (about to come down?)..

mr57, I gave you what was unearthed from this batch, 'tho there were many pretty cool mild customs (some not so mild) on the Canadian prairies back then - Ian's Chevy included!

I should mention the pic of 4dr with the Buick headlamps was marked "Calgary Drags". The one of the Tudor with the bubble skirts was likely shot here in Saskatoon and I believe belonged to Draggins member Ron Lee.

Gotcha. That first side pic makes it totally look like a single large long louver or rib. Almost like a ford truck hood, that's why I wanted to see another pic.
    Thanks, sweet car!!

A 16 year old kid in high school built it in 1982. But he stated to work on it when he was younger.

Is the Elco yours now? It's a good-looking truck; nice panel painting, and the '60 Merc grille has always seemed to me a worthwhile upgrade on '59 Chebbies.

Always thought that mild customs could include bolt-on stuff. I've been looking for a set of those one-piece headlamp bezels w/visors for years for my '49. Finally found a pair at the Vintage Chevrolet swap meet a couple of weeks ago. They've got some pits in the chrome, but that beats not finding them at all.
