Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by HOTRODPRIMER, Jul 20, 2016.

  1. This car has a color that really get's in my eyes, actually the car does too!

I also know that the color in pictures don't always look like the real thing, anyone know who owns the car. HRP

  2. Seems like that car got some magazine coverage somewhere, maybe from Shades of the Past, not a feature but in photo coverage of the event. I could be wrong but, the car looks very familiar, like I've seen it before. By the way, I like it as well Danny. The color works for me and I've always been a fan of those Shoebox Coupes.:)

That's a sharp shoebox, and an interesting color to boot. I like it, wonder if it's a custom mix or a regular (off the shelf) recipe?

  6. Danny,Ford had a stock color back then I think was called "Seafoam Green"

  7. ..............Yeah, that gas filler exposed would be indicative of a '49 instead of a '50. Cool car regardless.

  8. .................I think Seafoam Green was a brighter color but like Danny mentioned, photos don't always deliver exact color matches.

  9. ..........................and with any given mix I'm sure Seafoam Green could be lighter or darker depending on manufacturer and mix.

Have seen pics before--looks a little overcast there which may affect the color--color looks to be kinda like a 40 Ford Folkstone grey. Did a 40 recently with a similar color--folkstone with a hint more tan--will look for picture

    Beautiful Car...
What I personally like about it,
Chrome, Stainless intact and not Shaved,
    Stance.... Really Nice,
    Wheel / Tire Combo... Perfect..
Color? Whatever it is looks really good to me! :)

I took that picture in Louisville at the 2014 NSRA Show. The car is from the St Louis area.

That coupe was parked at the hotel we stay at in Louisville, last year or two.
The color is similar to what I recall seeing 49-50 Merc's at one time, kind of a clay hue.Call it what you want,it is outstanding to see up close and I wish I had it.
I seem to recall commenting on this car before, may be another thread on it.

I never said it was the same car, Mr. Obvious.

One is a 49 coupe, the other is a 50 sedan, duh.

But, I do believe it is the same color.
