Hot Rods just got finished with our 27 T roadster !

Well Me and my dad just got done with a 27 roadster we've been building for a couple of years. it is a close copy of the roadster he built in 1959 and showed across the country as the Satan's Chariot.
Its a steel ford body channeled 6' over a 32 frame with a 327 chevy with a powerglide trans.

Nice job! That is talent! I have a buddy in Hemet, CA., who builds from the ground up. His have always come out very nice. He builds to suit him.

Very nice, and cool history behind it.
So what ever happened to the original?

 

we're not sure last time we saw the original car it was at the del mar swap meet in Houston around the early 80's guy wanted 2500 and dang I wish we would have bought it back then

 

I picked up a '26 this winter to build and that car was one that I had several pics of. I Love it!

Yep... '27s fit tight, I have an old pair of Wranglers that are easier than my '27 to get into...and the '27's a HIGH BOY!
Probably the biggest reason I got the tub. I can move the drivers seat and its back rearward, the roadster's just too 'snug'.
Boy, Satan's got a pretty chariot there, detail is '60s Show! Meticulous work.

That's pretty cool, thanks. Yeah, I think you're right, I will have to chop windshield a bit. Mine won't sit that low, but close. Waiting on heim joints to make hairpins for rearend, and I should have a roller after that .

Looks great, looks like the original went through a couple different versions and the new one selects the best aspects of each.

Does the car have '32 winshield posts? Something about that windshield is very unique.

 

yes it's a modified 32 windshield,the body has been widened 4" and I reshaped the cowl to take the later windshield
The original car was widened 6" and channeled over a 34 frame but dad never liked the way it turned out so we did this one on a duece frame

 

Wow, didn't even notice that, very well done. Is it widened 4" all the way front to back, or just at the cowl? Every inch counts in a T, seems like a worthwhile modification.

 

I widened the cowl and spread the doors and tub and left the turtle deck stock. it really looks right
