If I could find a set of "AFFORDABLE" '56 Olds caps, I'd love to run them!

Boy, I hear you there!! They are getting EXPENSIVE! I have one full set of Starfires for the '39, and two sets of '55/'56 Dodge Lancers. The Starfires are WAY harder to find than the short bar lancers, and generally more expensive.

Mike Wallace NAILED the picture of the day from Columbus, at least in this humble "T"-0-Phile's opinion! This is EXACTLY that mid to late sixties hot rod "T" look i have been yammering about!

That's killer. The overhead shot could be dropped right into the famous R&C Early Times cover, well, except it's going the wrong direction :D. Way cool

  9. That's funny Jimmy, I was fine with the fronts, but not feeling the rears that much! A little too tall for my tastes.

But picking nits on something this fine is a futile exercise.

I LOVE this! I said it on another thread, we NEED more full fendered hot rods with the tires hanging out, this look is overdue for a comeback. Man, that is COOL!

I LOVE the rear shot! Big balonys and a jag rear!! 16" forty wheels on everything are yesterdays news baby! Heres hoping we start to see more late sixties stuff in TRJ. Maybe the Texas T feature is a sign of the dam breaking.

I usually have mixed emotions about the Tire moving out of the fenders, because I like the ability to launch hard, and I usually don't like the sound of fenders hitting arches. But this guy got a nice setup with tires out and room. We'll played

Any car that launches hard wont squat, it will rise. How much depends on the weight distribution, tire size and chassis stiffness, Better the weight distribution, stiffer the chassis and bigger the tires the less anti-squat required, but no well set-up car will squat on launch, its just a question of how much anti-squat it needs to maintain hook. Not that this has much to do with what goes on on the HAMB, but...

I posted 3 different early seventies stinkbug hot rods on three different threads yesterday, I really think this is the best of the bunch. That really looks cool!

I really really like that one George. It just looks mean. Is this a glimpse of what your sedan might look like?

No, I like it a lot, but the Tudor will be more early sixties. Short bar lancers, www's, big rake, 270hp 283. The Tudor has been jelling in my brain for a long time, it was originally actually going to be a Ray Silva influenced '28/'29 RP with a mixture of Ala-Kart and early Corvette influences, the basic concept hasn't really changed, but I already have a t-bucket, decided I wanted a closed car with more family room. I decided to look for a Tudor body about 1.5 years ago, when I found a really nice set of T fenders.

Gotta finish the '39 first!! Last Sunday at the Kwatlen college swap in Langley I bought a small block cast Ansen scattershield for it. The guy was selling some Willys stuff, and we started talking, I told him what I wanted the scattershield for, my game plan was to use a later 283 block I have and grind off the side mount bosses and fill the holes. I mentioned that I was looking for an actual '57 283 block, and he says "I have a '57 283 short block, that's what the scattershield came off. It's .060 over with Jahns pop-ups in it, it's in real nice shape, I think you could just clean it up and run it. I originally had it in my Willys gasser in the mid sixties."
I took his number, and said I'd talk to him later this week. I called him on Friday and talked to him about it some more, it has an old roller cam in it of unknown specs, and he mentioned he has some C1 Corvette parts, and the gears really started turning. I am going to look at it on Wed.

Blake, what headlights are on your car? Are they 6" or 7"? Dietz? Postwar Harley Davidson?

Joe Barnett's '27 Touring makes me want to do mine with fenders.
My '32 frame can go back under my roadster. (also '27)
I have a MINT '29 frame with frame horns removed.
Gotta get it running...Anyone got '27 fenders??? (better than mine???)

Is there a tire produced today that could recreate the look for the fat-mags-stick-beyond-fender deal? Because a lot of what makes the vintage pics look right are the tires, and big giant modern radials sticking out would really ruin it.
