That's my favorite of the batch. Definitely printing it.

 

Love them all, but especially the B&W photos. They have a warm feeling that doesn't come thru in digital.

 

Thanks a lot. Yes I agree. I have a few digital cameras but I always find myself going back to 35mm for events like these.

there is nothing that can be done in film that can not be duplicated on the computer.... other than the cool gear you use to take the pics. I don't know of any cool vintage digital cameras.

 

This suggestion is well beyond my comfort zone but have you tried shooting in RAW (for you non photo guys that doesn't mean taking pictures while not wearing clothes)?

Thanks a lot I appreciate that! I tried keeping modern stuff out of the backgrounds. It was harder than you'd think with people on cell phones and taking pics with their phones.

 

well done. Its becoming a wish of mine to make it here to shoot or run. Having a negative scanner is one of the best purchases Ive ever made.

 

Thank you! Yeah I really need to invest in one. Developing is so expensive anymore than I could probably pay for a nice scanner in a dozen rolls worth of developing at my local shop.

Great photos. I love that first flag girl. She really got into it!!!

 

I worked in a big commercial photo lab for 13 years. I still love the look of photos shot on film.
Just a little side note if you find a good deal on film. Buy it and store it in the freezer that will keep it from going bad as quick.

Yeah I agree. No filters or photoshopping can truly resemble 35mm IMO. And yeah i use to keep a small bedroom fridge stocked with film in high school and college, but if ou were referring to the expired Kodak 125 it was intentional. I was given the expired film at TROG actually.

 

Film? Who uses film? That's as crazy as running a carburetor on a car....

Like so many others, I used to shoot a ton of 35 film, especially ILLFORD B&W. With digital photos, we don't sit down and make albums anymore. Film is like chess, it forces you to think, before you move.
This is one of my faves. Love the perfect summitry, between the 2 coupes with roller coaster, out of focus, in background.

Thanks I completely agree. TROG is a little tough for me too because everything is happening so fast. I can only figure out my shutter and aperture so fast. This is one of my favorites too. I like illford stuff. I was going to shoot their stuff at trog but I had extra tri-x 400 ready to go.

 

Great work. As jakespeed said, film forces you to think. When you only have 24/36 exposures (or less if medium format) you really have to slow down and think about each shot. I really like what you did, well worth the extra effort.
