I picked up a 1966 Scout 800

Of all things it runs and drives well I'm thinking of licensing it for the summer

I was thinking about dumping the 4x4 stuff. Dropped with a mustang IFS
Chev V6 with a T5 trams.
Get a pickup cab for it

The S-series was produced 1955 to early 1957. The 120 designation means 3/4 ton.

My hubby and i are currently restoring our 1957 golden jubilee, we got the original motor running, and she is in good condition really..... the hardest thing we have come across thus far is finding a gas tank like the one on it, luckily we have some metal guys who are fabing us one.

 

This is mine, its going to be this winter's project if not sooner. All I got was the body so I dropped it on a 73 chevy 2wd frame. 350/350turbo. simple and easy. The plan is to channel the rear of the cab and the bed to give it a lower look

Read most of the 20 pages, looking for more ideas. I have a 1953 L120 and a 1955 R100. I am working on the 55 at the moment. Its sitting on a S10 frame with a sbc engine, with a 700 r4 transmission. Looking for a 60inch rear axle to put in, plus a few other jobs. Enjoying the project so far, having fun trying to remove rusted bolts etc. It looks like the binder is a Canadian favourite, as I also live in Canada. As you can see I am new to this site, if anyone can give me a link to S10 frame swaps, I would be thankful. I am going to try to add some photos. Here is one of the 53, it had sat there since 1983. I will start on this one once the 55 is finished.

...late this Fall I picked up a 55 and a 54 pickups, the 55 had no bed but I found a decent shortbox for it, right now the only thing working on em is gravity (holding them down in one spot outside) lol.

 

Here's one of my 58 that I sold and the 48 that I drive daily now. The KB is IH 345 powered, T 19, 9". The 58 is original I-6, non-synchro 4 speed, and dropped a touch in the nose. Both pics taken about 5 years ago.

 

Here's my '54' R100 that I am getting pretty close to driving. It has a dropped front axle by Sid's, Ford 9" sitting on rear leaf springs, late 60's BG241 straight six, 3 speed with floor shift, dual reservoir master brake cylinder, rewired, and just a lot of other stuff. Should be fun.

 

...anyone have an extra grill panel for a 50-55 pickup for sale?

There is a Brit located in the northern city Chang Mai, Thailand. He just finished rebuilding a 56 with the original V8 and trans.

 

here's a couple pics, this thing gets more comments than anything I've seen. 350/700R4, 77 Camaro clip with 1.25" bar and fast steering box , S-10 rear with 3.42 posi and disc brakes. Bare metal interior. Thing drives like a go-kart. A fast go-kart.

thanks... I spent an hour or so sifting through the pages... while I did see quite a few profile views of various IH trucks, there was no mention of the frame rails - as viewed from above to determine the dimensions I'm in search of.
Does anyone have such a truck in Florida that I can measure?

Well darn, sorry about that.

 

Here is my 1953 R112 that is being put on a 1995 Dodge Dakota chassis with all Dodge interior, floor pans gauges etc. It will be about 5 inches lower to the ground than in this picture. I drove it all original for a few months then the motor puked and I felt it was time to make a good daily driver out of her that would go down the road well with all the creature comforts like good brakes, power steering, air, heat etc.

 

Saw a super nice lookin candy gold colored "55" (I think?) yesterday on clist, went back to get pic after seein this thread back up and I think its gone, cant find it???

But after reading through this thread, I'm not sure this is even the correct shaped cab for it :-( Pretty certain it was modded your side so does anyone know anything about it. Big ask I know, but sometimes if you dont ask

That's a 1950 or newer body. Sounds like a re-titled truck. I vote no.

 

47 will look more like my 46 binder.
