You should be letting the smoke billow off your tires...... We run street tires too. And we do burn outs. Why? Because it's kool.

Norb, slow orange is starting to come around, starting to get faster... Had help from Jon Tomkins, it's really running WAY better now. Have couple more adjustments to do, still too rich at idle, but getting there!
Had to modify upper shock mounts. Needed more shock travel. Had friend Dan weld in couple support gussets for mounts. He said I had to do a burnout for payment...!

Anyone had this headlight/turn signal problem? With headlights off, turn signals work perfect front & rear... Pull headlight switch out & turn either right or left signal on & light gets bright but will not blink. Now go to front of car & nothing with headlight switch on, right or left. If I push headlight switch in the lights blink front & back?!? I was thinking checking headlight switch & see if loose wire or bad ground? Or bad flasher? Anyone ran into this before?

Check the grounds. Went though that with the Falcon a couple months back. Went to the trouble of replacing the switch thinking that was it and it wasn't. Found out that way back when, around 8 years ago we painted the front bumper. By doing that we lost the ground that the turn signal buckets need to complete the circuit. We were getting all kinds of weird things happening with the headlights on and off.

Car ran great for as hot as it was.
With the safer gear in it running through the traps at 6200 RPM singing a song way better than the one them Beach Boys sang.

I went out first round dialed in with a 12.50 and ran a 12.41 @ 107. I took that as a win for me that was the best MPH for the car to date.

I am coming for you Scott. We lightened the trunk lid this weekend (actually did it to make it easier to get to a big dent that needed to be knocked out). But in the process we shaved nearly 2 pounds off the Austin. If I did the math right that should trim .0002 of a second off my ET! :p

    Either way,it's a win/win for me.
If I lose to an 850hp supercharged BBC in a car that's 500lbs lighter than mine, well I went down swinging.Zero shame in that.

If I beat a supercharged, big cubic inch BBC in a lighter car with my small cubic inch, naturally aspirated, not so light car, then I'm a badass that took down a "faster" car...;)

James hit the nail right on the head:
Good close racing for the fans to enjoy is the most important part:)
Seeing close matches, with cars that look like they would have been in the same class in the 60's.
That's half the fun;walking the pits looking for cars that look like they should be launching next to yours in an old black and white photo with "Motor City Dragway August 64" written on the back of it:)
