  1. What he said! ^^^ Been following this one since the beginning. Glad to see progress on it. You always nail the stance and I'm looking forward to seeing this one roll. Keep it up!

I agree that the motor mounts are pretty sweet. What all did you use to fab them?

Really nice work. Are those ASC rails and Ionia boxing plates? The motor mounts are very clever and I need to dig my cut out ones from the scrap bid.

I just re-read the whole thread and found out my answer. I am hoping to build a similar chassis for my roadster project. You have reinstalled my interest in the chassis work you have done. I talked to Matt about a complete chassis but the cost was way over my budget so I will use their components and follow your build.
    Thanks for sharing.

Yes ASC rails and Ionia boxing plates and Crossmembers.

As for what I used to make the motor mounts, the 4 panel pic pretty much sums it up. Took a couple of stock crossmembers, cut the motor mounts off of them, pieced them together to make a round circle, and welded on the lower flange. They are going to get a lower support as well, but I haven't got around to that yet.

I think the snow has kept the work down to a slow chill. Damn it has been cold in IL and that front porch toilet would be burrrrrr…..

He's been making some good progress on it. I don't know if he gets on here much any more. I'll ask him to post a progress report.

Yeah well, I keep getting side tracked by other shit. I stumbled back into motorcycles, put a new motor, tranny, tires, and top on my Vette and had to build a new dog kennel because the dogs fell through the top of my Vette when they were wrestling on top of it.

  20. Woo hoo, nice to see your still pokin about here, figured the new Hamb had scared you off, like a lot of other older Hambers.
Now I don't feel so bad about my long term projects.

Did Heff ever let you back after upchucking in his driveway? :D

At 71 years old and the more they look like they did in 1958 the more I like. I have 4 I put together from old iron in my garage and they have brought me many happy hours. What great car and project you have!

Update, rolled it outside for the first time. Don't know why they tipped on their side, but they were right side up when I uploaded them.
