I bought this '57 in 1976. I'm just finishing up the restoration now.

  4. I found this cool old thread, and thought it needed a bump. My 34 Dodge I've had for 37 years. I first saw it as a kid in the 60s. 018.jpg

We should be reporting miles driven in this thread as well as years owned.

  8. I can only speak for myself, but I never had, or hooked up an Odometer in my Hot Rods until the last few years. lol I relied on the officer to tell me how fast I was going. He was even nice enough to give me a copy for my files too. ha. ha. Ron...

Well I see we have had some "late models" in this thread so here is our 65 Nova:rolleyes:
My bride and I bought this just before we were married in early 83.
The ODO clicked 100K the day I bought it, and it has only been driven less than 100 miles.
It has almost as many jackstand miles due to it being a perpetual project for 34 years.
Has seen two iterations of build styles; first was a stock/resto-mod and the next was whatever "trendy" category you might want to tag it at the time, mostly hot rod I guess.
I'll save the details for anyone that wants to convo me.

I have had my truck for 37 years and it got me thru my 2 stints to finish college that were 9 years apart. I have had some others but this is a keeper as my mom was instrumental in getting it for me as a Christmas present. One day she'll be back on the road when other priorities are taken care of.

About 150k on my truck since I got it. Showed 33k on it in 1977, probably went around more than once, it burned a quart of oil driving it home ten miles!

Usually about six months. "Finished" is just another word for "For Sale."

  21. My 29, I've had for about 40 years, as for miles , three SBCs and two Pontiacs mills. Drove her as a daily in the 80s, even had snow tires, and heater when needed. She always had a pillow for a seat. I gave a nice old farmer $100 dollars for her. She's priceless to me, not so much to anyone else. Also still have my 68 Vette I got in 1970, I was 17 and in High school. Also still have my Dads 67 Bonneville convertible he got new. 20160113_131330.jpg 20160113_140600.jpg 004.jpg I may be a little sentimental. lol Ron...

image.jpeg Sorry it's not a "rod" but I guess it could be considered a classic. My father had it from 1943 until his death in 1963. It's been following me since so 73 years in the same family with the same nome on the pink isn't to bad. It's 1939 Sport Scout. I didn't restore it until 1996. Shares one side of the garage with my HD and LSR roadster.
