  5. Isn't that a young Thurston Howell III? Must have been before he struck it rich and married Lovey. Or maybe he dumped the blonde babe here, and took up with Lovey because she had the money all along. These things happen, you know.

That looks like a 'borrowed' hot rod, maybe someone from LA Roadsters would know,, they were started as a club to help provide cars to Hollywood, if I remember right.
Don't think they could have raised it much more,, "don't worry son, we'll take it up with a chain hoist, it will be fine...."

I guess Jack stands and working safely under a suspended load weren't such a big deal back in the day.

    Thanks, Ryan.

Maybe think about sharing the one from "The Life of Riley", where Junior decides to build a roadster? Lots of shots in that one, pretty neat when the '32 turns into a '29 Highboy...
Oh well, long as Hollywood 'got it close...'

That's what I thought! They were sitting right there. Wouldn't have caught me under that car for anything!

it shouldnt be too hard for one of our resident Hot Rod historians to find an early 50's built roadster with a white frame

Wasn't there an episode of "Leave It To Beaver" with Wally getting a ride in a nice rod?

Don't forget about "Hot Rod Otis" not really a rod but a good episode of a great show with a nice car. (33 Ford)

Favorite hot rod infused sitcom episode: The Munster's "Hot Rod Herman". How bitchin was it that there were early Top Fuel cars involved, huh? Sorry,no help on who's roadster it was...

  23. I can't believe nobody else said it, but... the car belongs to Tom Peters! :D

That chick looks like she's 50 years old. No wonder he wanted to stay under the Hot Rod.

I guess it doesn't really go with this thread but the "Ricky Nelson" roadster is in 3 Dog garage in Boyertown, PA.

I had heard of the TV series "I Married Joan", but had never seen any episodes. It was interesting to watch.

As far as other Hot Rod oriented shows from the 1950's, check out "The Big Rod" episode of Dragnet. It not only has a Hot Rod, but the NHRA, too.

Joan Davis of "I Married Joan", had a daughter named Beverly Wills who also was an actress in the 1950's.
Beverly had a boyfriend who Joan did not get along with....... his name was.........James Dean !
