It's amazing that there were any tasteful cars there at all! I'd like to own at least half of them, which is a high ratio for 1980s cars.
Crap I was just going to post some pics of east coast customs from my collection of old car magazines that I have been flipping through ...then I noticed how old the thread is , maybe it will get going again . I did notice the woody in the last post .....and it looked like one I just saw in one of the magazines I flipped through....is it? That would be kool if it is .
Here's some cover shots from my collection ,east coast cars that I think was mentioned in earlier posts. Maybe this will get this thread moving again, if so I have alot of magazines, of course all east coast stuff
This is before Frank Maratta changed this Mercury into the hideous pink "Maratta Mystery" which was later cut up and scrapped.
IMO, this is probably the nicest 1934 Ford of all time. And, yes, I saw the car when I lived in New England.
I own this car now, someone before me added a 56 wagon rear bumper. I replaced the louvered hood with a shaved one like it had before and had Kenny Baker, CHOPRODS, rechop/rebody it and now have fixed the front suspension back to drive-able. Next is paint and I am leaning toward the earliest pictured blue below. I have seen most of these pictures but not all. Thanks.
Anyone know anything about a 39-40 Chopped Ford coupe painted pink that used to run around in nassau county , Long Island around 30 years ago ???
