It was good to see you guys Saturday and it was neat to see how excited Carly was. If we don't do our part educating and encouraging kids about the way that it was history may get told the wrong way and someday we will see Honda civics with straight axles.

Most of the guys that are into this stuff are starting to get up there in the years (such as Ric...don't worry bud the grey looks good on you)...it is great to see some of the young folks who are into it

My 20 yo niece will be there with us again this year... we may have to find a car for her and set up a match race. She is a little more experienced as she has her Top Dragster license and has gone 7.49 @ 181... but the concept of 2 young girls racing vintage race cars is very cool...

Got these slicks for my 64 ( to run the 100 Car heads up race ) didn't go because of the Weather Forecast.

    Been running a 29.5 x 11.5 x 15 @ 121 m.p.h. turn about 6284 r.p.m. with 4.56 gears.

    The small slicks are 26 x 9 x 15, they will turn about 7130 @ 121 m.p.h. ( BUT WILL THEY HOOK ? )
    .
Put my (old reliable) 750 vacuum secondary Holley back on. ( secondaries open after about 100 ft. out )
Lowering the stall on the glide will help too.
Hopefully find out @ Rock Falls this weekend. ( Saturday forecast is 90, give her the Meltdown tune )

Hold my Beer i going to try something.:D

Bringing along the Big slicks just in case. small slick 2.jpg

No, Between me and my nephews house is first crop hay, chopped off the field today.
( but it does look like lawn right now )

The poor quality concrete work was done by me and good friend Tony sometime in the early 80s .
This is the result mixing concrete batches ( counting shovel fulls ) in to my Dads small mixer.
Doing this on 3 very hot Meltdown kind of days while drinking cases of Kingsbury Beer.
    ( Looks like I didn't count to good )
Also all the Salt used in Wisconsin is not good for concrete.

Got a bid this spring to have it professionally replaced but I am not ready yet.
In the middle of this 10 acre
field. since 1975, planted that red Maple ( no one sees it, untill I take a pic ) l.o.l.

Also my house is a small 3 bedroom Ranch ( looks nothing like my nephews )
    But I have a 40 x 45 steel building for toys.;)

Scott...today marks 44 days until the Meltdown...

Do you have "Your Little Pony" ready yet? Motor in? Seat adjusted? Pinion angle set (P.S. I have heard that this is important)...Have you performed the appropriate number of clutch depressions?

On a serious note, today is the last day of school for my kids and they are having "special interest day"... I am going to drive the Okie to school and get to talk to kids about working on old cars and racing...

Got the car all ready to go

What 90/10 shocks are you guys using? Was thinking Calverts over the lakewoods for a non adjustable shock and see how they are over my stock type shocks for now. The double adjustable afcos are too much for my budget right now.

The event at school was fun and I think I may have won the cool Dad award....The car was way more popular than the Dad teaching kids how to transplant a tomato plant.

I was able to tell the kids a great racing story about David & Goliath and the little 327 that would go on to overcome the odds and beat the 622 hp evil Ford.

I even let the kids sit in the car and have their picture taken...one kid was really funny. He said "my Dad has an old car at home, but he was glad to finally sit in a Man's Car"....I asked him what kind of car did his Dad have and he said "A Pontiac"...I let him know that it is okay and that not everybody can be cool...somebody has to date the ugly chick....
