Boy it sure is cool to see how many of these trucks are getting back on the road. Great looking trucks everyone.

    Here is a picture of mine, its a 62 merc. 223 3spd.

I bought it last October so I can drive it while I work on my 61, which had been a project for about 16 years!

It's my workhorse for dump runs and moving old greasy hot rod parts around. I sold it to a buddy a few years ago and regretted it immediately. Took a few years to convince him to sell it back.

I put a speedway economy disc brake kit on it and it stops like you threw out an anchor. Best modification I've ever made to anything.

20160409_172718.jpg As always, they ride way better with a load. This is also why I prefer a long bed. Rumor is this truck had a camper in it from new... bed is in really good shape. Also has a light mounted near the diff under the bed and it had a huge steering stabilizer.

My 65 F100. Bought in Nashville, brought back to Ohio. 60K, 352 3-speed, power nothing. Found window sticker in glovebox.
Only options were additional rear springs, 2-speed wipers, western Jr mirrors and a radio.
Replaced radiator, tires and shocks, did a tune up and had doors and tailgate lettered, found the old cap in a barn in southern Ohio.
Attracts more attention than any shiny car I've ever owned. Leaving it as stock as possible.[IMG]

I would love to find a vintage camper shell like that one for my truck Otie. Been watching CL but very few ever show up in decent shape.

They are tough find, I'm in NE Ohio. What I figured out was a couple hours south of me they call them toppers. Try searching for that, you may have more luck.

This one and the one above,..... Used Up Junk came over and picked up a used up Y block for another hot rod project. Engine hoist, tired 292, couple of floor jack a, and some other tools set the rear down a bit. Still good to see trucks doing truck stuff.

Are the rear wheels here reversed or were they widened? Look great in the wheel wells.

Bengeltiger, my rear wheels aren't really reversed they are just an old set of aftermarket steel wheels I'm guessing from the 70's that are really deep. They were on another project and I just got really lucky with the fit. If I remember right they are 15x8's with 3" of backspacing but I'd have to double check.

I thought I'd post this for those who don't watch the Friday Art Show threads. Cruisin' posted this lovely bit of customized Slickness this week. Given that Cruisin' is a photographer, this may actually exist. If not, I hope it inspires someone to actually build a grille like this! I'm tempted! It combines the best of two of my favorite Ford pickups.

Love everything about this truck. The only thing that would make it sweeter would be if the 352 were a 223.
Even though my dad had a Chevy that, "oh-so-70's" canopy takes me right back to being a kid.
Thanks for reminding me about that. (-_-)--b
...btw, those mirrors are known as "Jr. West Coasters".

Thanks, I was really happy how well they fit and lucky too. Need to get back on this truck, next few things on the list are a disc brake swap like we did on Drugasm's '64 long bed (that thing really does stop like you tossed out and anchor) and a T5 swap so I can go more than 55 mph for any kind of distance. Poor truck needs paint and body work too, getting tired of the patchwork of rust, faded rootbeer brown and brown primer.

Took him out for a burn last weekend. The old Rangoon Red was shiny for about three days. Tough to keep that original red from oxidizing.

A cool little '64 I bought a couple months ago.

Bought from the original owners daughter......she was 70!

Appears to be 70k is original miles.

Plans are for disc brakes, dropped axle, add a set of headers I have that are for it, dual exhaust and that should do it.
