Projects Sean's Track Style T

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Pocket Nick, Jun 2, 2016.

  1. So for the last year and a half I've been working on a friends car that was the brain child of his father who never got to see it to completion. The project was originally started almost 4 years ago and has taken its real tagged and licensed maiden voyage earlier today, the small test drives to the corner don't count here. Even with the heavy Schroeder steering and cramped confines it drives very nice on surface streets and the freeway albeit bumpy, but it's a T after all. I'll mostly post pictures that I do have, not really a huge photo taker but these were taken to keep Sean up to date as it progressed. Thanks to gimpyshotrods for answering questions along the way because he had his hands on it as well. I'll answer any questions asked instead of typing the whole novel on my phone.

Very interesting, I'm in. The curved front cross member is a nice touch.

Thanks for remembering me, @Pocket Nick. I get left out of the credits all too often.

  5. Bruh I got you, I think Scott only welded the frame together after you set it up and you made the floor pan right? Gotta give the credit to the right places.

John Porter did the final welding on the frame.

John Porter was my lead fabricator when I still had my shop.

  13. Still a couple little things to change, like that water crossover between the heads, just gonna put brass barbs and a black heater hose to get rid of the anodized hose ends, he said it was ok to do that.

Second saddest day in my life, after burying my Dad who died at 45, was laying him off.

A more talented welder and fabricator you are not likely to find.

Yeah, I was never super-sure that modern stuff would look passable on that car. Wrong era.

  18. Well if anyone is around at good guys in Pleasanton this weekend I'll be there with it on Sean's behalf, he asked me to take it since he is unable to.

Cool. I will be over on Saturday, then. Sunday is booked up, oddly, at the airport.

I am not sure. It was commissioned by the Father of the owner, before he passed. I hope that it did not disappear along the way.

  26. Thanks, I am glad he gave me some free reign on most of the aesthetics, still some street rod type aspects I want to change out that don't quite fit the style, a bit of gradual coaxing gets the changes made after I let him think about it and mull it over

I like the detail in you work. Well thought out.

  28. The drawing is by Thom Taylor and is of a 32 Ford track style roadster. If the T turns out looking close to Thom's drawing it will look great.
